I have been in social and professional situations in which I fucked up.
And the only explanations with any possibility within the laws of legality/physics/morality etc would, basically, shout out (to those with adult mentalities):

Wondering how long before the WH realizes that having trump’s last words to the public (I’m not counting friday, which only made headlines for being so brief, so didn’t get any real coverage) be a recommendation for anal UV bleaching is a bad idea…
The longer they keep him under wraps, the longer that idea sticks around. Even if he spews new stupid shit, that would at least clear the headlines up.

From what I’ve read, the pressure has been building for a while, especially from R’s on the November ballot. Trump’s instinct would have been to bluster through after the disinfectant fiasco, but I’ll bet McConnell had a “Come to Jesus” talk with him over the weekend.
It’s only temporary though. Trump can’t handle being out of the spotlight for long. It may shift to factory visits or something, but it will end up being the same airing of grievances and bashing the media.

Which is exactly why there’s no reason to believe that this particular dumbass thing he said is the straw that broke the camel’s back. He’s been outlandish for months, why stop right at this point and not another?
Here I’m in total agreement. I was really surprised when I saw them cancel today’s presser. He’s already gone all weekend with only twitter to rage on, this makes it an eternity for him.
