WH Blames NSC Impeachment Witness For Discrepancies In Call Summaries | Talking Points Memo

When the White House on Friday released a memorandum of the first conversation between President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s president-elect, something popped out to eagle-eyed observers: The conversation was much different than the readout the White House issued at the time.

Well, Vindman’s public testimony is going to be quite interesting.

These republicans are absolutely sickening. They’ll try to smear anyone who doesn’t absolutely stick behind the emperor. Shameful.

Vindman will knock that crap down with ease when he testifies in open session next week.

I must admit that I did not know they were this stupid though.
Trumpism is not sustainable…
Even for Republicans

It’ll be another chance to have a fun discussion about Trump blocking all of the documents and e-mails and notes which would support the truth on it…

Not all of them are. Some of them are just mercenary. And those are the ones you can see die a little bit inside every time they have to hew to the party bullshit about something.

They can “rally around” this fucker all they want, but he’s still a five year old in temperament.

They will just go down a Rabbit Hole justifying EVERYTHING he does.

Would you like to withdraw this statement? We are nearly 3 years in.

I mentioned on another thread earlier in the day that the WH is just stupid releasing this when it doesn’t comport with the original statement. And now they are blaming it on Vindman. Ya know, you might think we (the American public is stupid), but I’ve got notice for the WH tRumpsters, here’s YOUR sign! The f’ing mob is in the WH.

They work for would-be emperors. Every one of them is being run ragged by the oligarchs who fund their misadventures in “public service.”

Jim Jordan knows that he’s out of a job if he can’t at least get the Constitution and the shredder into the room that McConnell and the Koch network have prepared for them.

To risk the cliché: The “emperor” has no clothes.

Word.

He may be “out of a Job” because of ONE other reason

(having to do with certain people he should have been protecting)

I certainly hope so. The readout does not sound like Vindman or the NSC. It sounds like a purely political BS release. Also note that this (again) is NOT a transcript, but a “memorandum” which Vindman tried to truthify for the 2nd Phone conversation.

I also pray that Vindman wears his full uniform to the hearing. Game changer.

I don’t know where the WH is going with this. There is the possibility that Vindman had a part in the NSC readout, but the fact that the WH took all day to respond suggests otherwise. As a Repub pundit on CNN just said, “send this guy (Trump) on vacation. The only time he is not shooting himself in the foot is when he is reloading.”

Whoever prepared the April readout probably did it based on the notes prepared for Trump of what the call was supposed to include. I doubt those had anything about Miss Universe. The readout is a formality, written to sound nice and official, and released to the public about all of the President’s calls with foreign leaders - all, that is, except those with Putin, the 7/25 call with Zelensky, and all others that include corrupt shakedowns and presidential giveaways to people like Erdogan.

Vindman will handle anything they throw at him, which responses to which may include, “The White House spokesperson was lying, probably at the direction of Trump or Grisham.”

With Castor (this one) asking all the Right Questions and doing the right solemn nodding of the head in agreement, Vindman is gonna Rock the House when he testifies

Live by the narrative, die by the narrative, bitches. The narrative now is that committed public servants are pushing back against venal, stupid conspirators. These clumsy smear tactics only support that narrative. It’s too late. And most of us knew you were chiselers before the inauguration. Time to cut a deal and get out of Dodge.
