White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Monday repeatedly insisted that President Biden has no plans to wade into nor watch former President Trump’s second impeachment trial a day before it is scheduled to kick off.
I won’t spend any time at all. I would be too busy monitoring the comments on TPM.

Unlike Trump, who would insist he had no interest in watching an event and then live-hate-tweet about it throughout, we can probably believe that Biden won’t be watching. He has better things to do.
Good for the President! Impeachment is Congress’s business, not the executive’s (unless he’s the one in the dock). For that matter, federal charges against Trump will be the purview of the Justice Department, which Biden knows enough to keep his hands off of.
I second the sentiment that it’s nice this Prez doesn’t spend a lot of time watching the talking heads on the teevie, listening for his name being mentioned, like some others…
Have to say, now that we have Jen Psaki coming prepared to answer substantive questions – as opposed to stonewalling liars – the paucity of intelligent questions becomes painfully clear.
And something tells me that Jen is prepared for policy questions, too…in fact ESPECIALLY policy questions.
Jen Psaki is very, very good on her feet, plus she has a mind like a bear trap. Nothing gets by her. She’s excellent. And truthful.

Asked later in the briefing about why Biden won’t weigh in on whether Trump should be convicted in the impeachment trial for inciting the deadly insurrection at the Capitol last month, given that the President said in an interview on “60 Minutes” that Trump should not receive intelligence briefings due to “erratic behavior,”
What a stupid question. The entire point of the Senate trial is to determine guilt or innocence. Why on earth should Biden weigh in on an ongoing trial? Moreover, the trial is in the purview of the Senate, whereas Intelligence is in his bailiwick, and as chief executive, he gets to decide if Trump is deserving of a security clearance. It’s not that hard.
The press corps does seem to love the fluff. It’s easily digestible and has ready made sound bites they can regurgitate in nightly news programs.
After this exercise in futility is over, can the media please return T**** to the reeking garbage dump from which he arose?

When the previous occupant made a statement like this, what it actually meant was that the dumb S.O.B. would be glued to the tube and rage-tweeting about it 24x7.
“So I think it’s clear from his schedule and from his intention he will not spend too much time watching the proceedings any time over the course of this week,” Psaki said
With Biden, he actually has a schedule. And, you know, actual work to do. None of this “executive time” bullshit; done with that. Il carnevale è finito.
