Sondland has nothing to lose by turning against Trump, is not like he cares if Trump fires him, prosecute him or anything, and he surely understand that his budding political career is over no matter what. So he has no incentive to cover up for the crook that got him into this mess to begin with, specially now that they are trying to make him the fall guy.

Perhaps there’s a regional aspect to this, but my sense is that relatively few people under 40 care about politics, AT ALL. Yes, quite a few are very much engaged, as we’ve seen in marches and movements. But they’re still a very vocal and visible minority, and most, it seems, are basically siloed into this little lives, concerned about work, friends, family and diversions, and care little about anything beyond it, like politics or global issues. It’s a generational thing, brought on largely by technology. Plus, life is tough for younger people, with good jobs hard to find and having to work like crazy to stay alive and repay loans.
Of course it would help if they didn’t feel the need to lease expensive cars and buy a new iPad, iPhone or iTop every year and spend a gazillion on designer clothes and drinks.
Yes, I generalize, but am I wrong?

Yep. My daughter is crazy busy in her last year of grad school and barely has time to feed herself. She counts on me to fill her in on the details.

Sad. I followed Watergate fairly closely and I was less than 10 at the time. In my last months of college I followed Iran-Contra closely. I did tune out most of the Clinton investigations, like Whitewater and impeachment, since they appeared to be illegitimate to me at the time. What got me back into following politics was the 2000 election and 9/11. Perhaps today’s young people need such a moment to shock them into political awareness? I’m not calling or hoping for one, but maybe that’s what it would take?

It’s comforting to see that Schiff is the single best interrogator on the committee, a vast difference from his counterpart, Nunes, who simply lies about the Mueller investigation and provides his insight on the TV ratings.
