The partisan investigator tasked by Wisconsin Republicans with examining the 2020 election in the state could face professional consequences after berating a judge and opposing counsel during a hearing for a public records lawsuit last week.
Further proof that the Big Lie attracts the craziest amongst us to come out of their once-respectable shell.
It was the same for the Nazi’s Stabbed in the Back Thesis.
So hard to believe this guy was a state supreme court justice. What the hell happens to TFG supporters that makes them abandon all common sense, reason, logic, manners…I could go on but you get the picture.
What is this phenomenon? Seriously, not snarking (but perhaps more of a rhetorical question). Is it just the cult dynamics? Is this just how cults work, I guess?
I feel sorry for any defendant that was in a case presided over by this former judge.
The outrage performance has been SOP on the right for a long time. Although it did not take him to point it out to know about this, Krugman has observed the culture of displaying explosive rage at minor inconveniences in his columns which is common among right-wing punditry. It is attack, over-the-top unhinged emotion all the time.
I am in an ongoing legal issue with a far right wing attorney who clearly tries to bluster and shout his way out of his pitiful lawyering. Our attorney is actually having fun bringing him to a boiling point.
You know the old saying: “When the law is on your side, pound the law. When the facts are on your side, pound the facts. When you have neither, just pound the table.” Gableman is an embarrassment, though I expect nothing less from Wisconsin Republicans. I hope he loses his license, at very least.
One of the fundamental things about TrumpWorld is that they all behave with a sense of complete impunity from the law, the rules of civil discourse, and respect for truth.
Of course Merrick has so far granted them impunity.
OT, but what’s the deal with Luttig? It’s like a YouTube video slowed down to half speed and on a repetitive loop.
Of course, the “stab in the back” legend lives on in its various permutations.
The whole notion that Versailles was some kind of Carthaginian peace that ground Germany into the dust was a myth fabricated by the Nazis and other far-right elements (like the German General Staff, which undermined the arms limitations from the beginning). The problem was not the terms, but the lack of enforcement.
Thus, for crybabies like Macron to say we must be careful not to humiliate Putin because something, something Versailles (Kissinger has mumbled the same nonsense) shows that the lie is still believed 100 years later, and by the French of all people, who suffered as much as anybody precisely because of it.
