Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is taking aim at another billionaire a day after torching Michael Bloomberg on the debate stage in Las Vegas Wednesday night.
LIz is still in the Fight, and I am happy about that. I could see it from the beginning of the Debate.
Warren has the ability to straddle the Left and the Center Left and it was evident with the bookend slams of Bloomberg, last night, with Liz and Biden both taking turns.
She needs a David Ploeffe-level campaign guru to get her aligned with POC, suburban voters and sectors of the Midwest Belt that HRC lost in 2016.
Hmm… I’m not sure I’d put “less that 6% of his wealth” in the fine print, that should be part of the headline. The people who she wants to reach tend to be upset that the government is taking people’s money, even really really rich people’s. Emphasizing that $2 billion is crucial for social services but peanuts to Adelson is the important point IMHO.
And, presently, there are four individuals stuck at the Center Left position: Klobuchar, Biden, Warren, Buttigieg.
Of these four, only Warren has been associated with the idea of “Left” and she has one other weapon which must be utilized:
Warren, far more than Sanders, promises some movement on carrying with her DOWN TICKET RACES WHICH ARE VITAL FOR POLICY FOR THE NEXT POTUS.
Granted, I have not seen or heard that much from Warren on this (and certainly not as much as from Biden), but we MUST take the Senate and maintain the House to repair this country.
Given how many people list her as their second choice, I think she’s got the depth to stick it out until Sanders crashes and berns. And she’s gonna take the fight to Drumpf’s gonads until they resemble footballs.
