argues that autonomous weapons systems lack the human judgment necessary to distinguish between civilians and legitimate military targets.

Turns out that humans often lack that judgement, too. They get tired, they make mistakes.

Hmmm. What happens when police departments get the surplus AI killer robots?

Flifth.

I recently saw them in the nearest Central Park pond.
I don’t recall having come across them before. The male has really striking contrast in its colors; so, I doubt I overlooked them amongst the regular Mallard residents.

Is it wrong that the first thing I thought of when seeing the frog photo was what tasty-looking legs those are? No wonder they’re endangered.

In theory, police departments would never get the full-auto robots, because they would only be turned loose on battlefields devoid of civilians.

In theory, that is. What will actually happen is that police departments will get a few for use in special cases. Like a barricaded school shooter, where the thing will just kill anything that moves once it’s inside the building. The police department in Uvalde TX would have loved one of those. Better safe than sorry, right?

Oh yes. Kill anything that moves.

Do you know if the interracial Wood Duck/Mallard couple are still together this year?

There is a possibility that they are not the same couple, so wokeness may be spreading.

We must write a children’s book about it so that it can be banned in Florida.

I’m going walkabout, but first: America’s favorite whiny-voiced shitpuffins.

Ciao babies.

And all the kids who survived the shooter are necessary, but regrettable, collateral damage?
Thoughts and prayers, you know.

Have the Republicans even bothered to posit a solution for this? What am I asking? I should really get that first cup of coffee.

Of course not. Because any failings were on their watch, both at the federal and state levels.

In the predicted age of The Jetsons killer robots, wars are fought by killer robots built by high ranking War Department nerds.

(Assuming we do not choose The Flintstones option.)

What really concerns me here is how such battles would impact the Human gene pool. When we mobilize for war there is a good deal of people getting shuffled around for training and weapons manufacturing which leads to otherwise unlikely pairings. People from Arkansas could end up having families with people from Berkley or Berlin, for example. In my family’s case My parents would never have met, and I would not exist if it were not for the Pearl Harbor raid. There is also a great deal of selection made more or less at random to the armed forces, when Generals and Second Lieutenants order operations to be carried out. The New, Improved AI killer robots will eliminate a lot of that random chaos generated by Humans. I can’t decide if this throws in or takes out an evolutionary monkey wrench. One hopes for the best.

My understanding is Donnie did the regulatory rollbacks without (unsurprisingly) a peep of protest from the reactionary caucus.
