Former President George W. Bush issued a statement saying that he and former first lady Laura Bush have watched the “tragic events unfolding in Afghanistan with deep sadness.”
I wonder if bush the lesser would like to say a few words now about his ABC policy in early 2001: Anything But Clinton. You think that in the absense of that policy, we might have done something about bin Laden’s activities in Afghanistan?
Witness the George W. Bush policy of “exporting and engendering democracy in the Middle East” v. Donald J. Trump policy of “America First.”
Trump negotiated the deal with the Taliban in February of 2020 to have American troops out by May of 2021. What plans did they immediately and subsequently make and implement to achieve that goal?
Oh, you can crank the Wayback-Whatif clock back even further than that. Clinton might have been able to do something, too, if he hadn’t been distracted and constrained by the whole hypocritical partisan low-down circus of impeachment. Don’t miss a good opportunity to blame Gingrich and his toxic legacy.
If there is anybody whose opinion on Afghanistan I am less interested in than George W. Bush’s, it is probably only Dick Cheney’s. Maybe somebody could ask Paul Wolfowitz what his opinion is too?
