VT’s Election Chief Asks SCOTUS To Correct Error In Kavanaugh Opinion | Talking Points Memo

If you read and grade Kavanaugh’s concurring opinion you might give the author a gentlemanly C- if it was submitted in a freshman political science class. It is a total disaster as an opinion of a United States Supreme Court Justice. How did he get into law school again?

And the process whereby drinks were ordered, made, served, and consumed?

Or, you know, he just called up some frat buddies.

Quicker and more certain for Congress to appropriate a bunch of money to bribe Thomas and all the rest of them into resigning.

Well sure, they are welcome to pay them to leave if that works.

:joy:

Well, only if you don’t acknowledge the lies he told at his very own hearing.

“High Tech lynching my ass.” Who gave him that line? Probably his nasty wife.

I guess we should be glad he didn’t cry, and talk about how much he liked beer.

We didn’t sink this low, McConnell dragged us here.

$100 million for the first one to resign (Breyer, no doubt). $75 million to the second, $50 million to the third, $25 million to the fourth, $10 million to the fifth, $5 million each for the rest.

And I’m entirely serious. Perfectly constitutional, and virtually guaranteed to get at least seven open seats for Joe to fill.

Yeah, that too, he did perjure himself, but to me the strong case is his failure to disclose his wife’s earnings, which is an ongoing violation of specific statute from which he is not exempt.

Maybe PJ, Bernie & Squi helped him write is opinion?

Said before and will say it again - the Senators not dealing with election next week need to start compiling this stuff and get the impeachment paperwork started.

There was some quid pro quo involved with Kenney’s retirement so yeah.

I’m down.

You could buy one of them even cheaper than that, with a simple “Total Wine & More” credit line.

The problem is that until there’s enough sane Senators to convict, any impeachment will go the same way as Donnie’s did. Maybe some Republicans up for renewal in the following cycle will see some writing on the wall, but how many voted to convict the Orange One? Yeah, one guy, on one charge - ain’t holdin’ my breath…

It’s criminal bribery if private parties do it. If Congress does it, it’s just good governance.

There seems to be a tendency to believe that the problems in the Opinion have to do with work that his clerks did.

Pretty sure the crapola is pure Kav.

Seems wholly in character, all of it: the sloppiness, the wing-nut-all-in-ness, etc.

Aw, nuts.

Will they accept donations?

okayed a policy that will allow local election officials to begin processing absentee ballots 30 days before the election.

Democrats can do this. Fairly.

Now is the time to change the Republican Senate.

Personally, I think Kavs would be the first conservative to take the money and quit, setting off a dash for the doors by the rest. I think Justice Handmaid’s Tale stays because she’s ordained by God, while Kagan sticks around because she just loves being a Supreme Court justice so much.
