Excellent roundup of the things to feel good about conerning the election. The only thing I’d add is that it looks like young people are starting to become more engaged in the elections and that bodes well for the future.
Appeal is to the 11th Circuit, so temper your expectations as to the appropriateness of the sanctions. And be aware that each successive award is going to add up to a pretty substantial amount.
“Habba? I think she notarized a document for me once…”
“I’ve heard she’s a leaker, no respect for AC privilege. Not the kinda lawyer Trump works with.”
I don’t want to suggest this is inaccurate, but I have not yet seen any reliable data suggesting that women turned out more than usual or that the youngest cohort did so either. Gen Z voters obviously are breaking decidedly for the good guys, but my skepticism is on the turnout. Do you have anything on that?
Throwing it out there then quickly reeling it back in ( The Pelosi shit, Grey Checks and 20 buck Blue Checks ) is hardly visionary. It’s ill thought out impulsivity. Two weeks in and bankruptcy whispers are about. Sounds like the DJ Trump School of Visionary Management. .
Funny story – When Dr. Hatmama died 26 years ago, he had an open buy contract in a 20-year Bond in his Futures account. I did not know this. I found out when I contacted the the commodity clearing house where he had an account. They asked if they should close the trade, I said let me check it out. I rode it for a few more days, and closed it out with a $4,000 profit. It was the first and last time I dabbled in the futures market again. (BTW, I could have made or lost $100,000 on that trade.) It was quite a rush.
Posted in wrong place, can’t replace because discobot
I think we need a welfare check on Josh - judging from this quote, he may have fallen on his head But if you set that aside, given that Democrats will not get 52 senate seats, in purely political terms there’s actual some real advantage in having Republicans hold the House by one or two seats.
But in terms of a functioning country, there really isn’t - 24/7 screaming about Hunter Bidens laptop, Chy-na owning the Bidens (seriously, WTF is that all about?), defunding Ukraine, two impeachments (got to keep up with TMFWWNBN), Ben Ghazi and her e-mails, plus losing all the committee chairs and the performative political investigations into Garland, the DOJ FBI and whoever else has annoyed the orange howler monkey that day is just ridiculous.
I never thought I’d say it, but these election results do kind of vindicate the Democratic strategists’ risky and much criticized play of spending money in Republican primaries to get extremist crazies to run against. I fear it might embolden them to do it even more in the future.
He’s always been nuts but now he’s done. This shit isn’t going to help. GOP leadership may be malignant but it’s not dumb hence their calling for moving on past Trump. In a month or two “Dump Trump” will be the Republican mantra…and you can bet all the previous sycophants will follow suit.
The 18-29 group voted 63% for Democrats. The SCOTUS thought they were so cute throwing their weight around and it appears Dobbs had a big effect on voter turnout, especially among the young. Same with climate change and threats to democracy. It’s their world now and it appears they are taking that seriously. This bodes well for 2004 if we can get them out in a midterm at this rate.
