Vice President JD Vance brought an entourage of White House officials with him to Indiana today for his meeting with Republican state officials there, whom he attempted to pressure to follow Texas’ lead and do the Trump administration’s bidding when it comes to the state’s congressional maps. Alongside Vance were White House Deputy Chief of…
“I appreciate the opportunity to meet with Vice President Vance today and share many of the successes we’re experiencing in Indiana.
Successes not to be named because there aren’t any.
We’ve been proud to work alongside the Trump Administration on several issues to strengthen our state and nation.
Issues like paving the rose garden and how ugly Taylor Swift is are of vital importance to the people of this fine state.
We had a meaningful discussion,
about cheating
heard the vice president’s perspective on a number of topics,
like how big a bribe the president expects
and will continue conversations as we work to advance Indiana and deliver results for Hoosiers.”…who are also in the top 1% of accumulated wealth
Redistrict Indiana? Heck, Agent Orange is now shrieking for a quickie “census” which excludes non-citizens so he can reapportion the House of Representatives before the 2026 election! As if the US Census Bureau can just pull those numbers out of their … well, apparently that’s exactly what he wants.
What state is next?
7 of the 9 Congressional seats are held by Republicans. Braun and Vance want all 9.
Peter Theil/Palantir, DATA DATA DATA. They want to simulate reality (the one they WANT) from data.
That’s where he gets them!
Vance Brings White House Backup to Indiana
White House Backup?!? Has Chiselin’ Trump clogged up the White House toilets again?
2 districts seems like such a small target, but I suppose they have reasons. My guesses:
- Indiana law makes it easier than most states to engage in random redistricting (certainly true with Texas.)
- They see a way to draw the maps to take all 9.
All this apparent desperation certainly indicates an awareness that they’re likely to lose the House in '26; unfortunately, one or more of their various maneuvers are at least somewhat likely to succeed. It’ll be interesting to see if SCOTUS ever finds something they won’t let Trump do.
“Things would work better, and if they were truly items where it was waste, fraud and abuse, I would love to put Democrats on record and have them vote against [those items],” Rounds [R-SD] said.
Democrats hold 47 seats in the Senate, well short of the 60 required to overcome a filibuster, but if anything in the budget is “waste, fraud and abuse” it’s clearly the fault of the D’s and not the minimum of 13 R’s who would have to vote for it. Maybe Sen. “Coach” Tuberville can help Rounds with remedial arithmetic and basic logic.
Why don’t they just have all people registered as Democrats removed by ICE from Indiana, Missouri, and some of the other target states and send them to a black hole somewhere?
“De plane, de plane!”
U. Utah Philips: “Utah, where men are men, and sheep are nervous.”
Updated for the VP’s visit: “Indiana, where men are men, and couches are nervous.”
As a (mostly) lifelong Hoosier, please allow me to say “FUCK THIS STATE!”.
Did “Big Balls” get randomly attacked on the street at 3 am by 10 teenagers? Maybe 12, according to Leon? Or a guy and a girl, per the police report? Sounds like an attempted drug buy gone wrong.
Given his reputed (hey, some are saying it) taste in furnishings, wouldn’t it be “de van, de van” instead?
Indiana has two Ds, industrial NW Indiana and indianoplace.
