My wife figured that out for me the other day. Why go for the big insurmountable prize when you can come in 2nd and just wait a year, maybe two tops she said, with attitude. She always does this to me.

Actually it’s best if it’s 2 years, then Vance can also 2 full additional terms (see the 22nd amendment).

For the record, the first time I heard Vance’s voice was when he ordered a box of “whatever makes sense” donuts.

Dark thought I’m sure is ricocheting through Trump’s mind tonight: Vance was focused on his own image rehab tonight with the phony nice-guy routine. Working his own book, not hammering media and Kamala enough, not serving interests of Trump.

It sure felt to me that Vance was trying to thread needle of signalling to Trump that he was the very model of a perfect VP bootlicker and also trying to distance himself from Trump and position himself as the leading republican candidate for 2028. Not convinced he was successful at doing either.

Really I’m getting tired of the “Karen” thing, when we all know the real problem in this world is all those Debbies.

Our neighborhood in Central Austin is about 50/50 students and homeowners. A few years ago we were at the top of the Texas Monthly “hottest neighborhoods in Texas” list and some of the cool neighbors, like the guy who would hold art shows in his house every few months, were eventually priced out. When his dad, the actual Tom Banjo from the Grateful Dead song, was down from Vermont he’d sit on the porch playing and we’d listen to him while out walking. It’s nice having more coffeeshops and so on within walking distance, but I kinda miss the old days of cheap-enough-for-musicians rents.

remember Trump’s pit bull at HHS, Vermin Shrewma or something?

Real public health advocate you got there, Brownie.

Politico decided Vance won hands down, each article built on that premise.

Like they can make it so.

As if polished lying beats earnest responses not as smoothly delivered.

Whining about being fact checked is what most will remember.

Here in South Florida a lot of homes have been converted to AirBnB’s, and some people operate under the radar, refusing to declare them as such and avoiding the regulations that go with the designation.

Imagine living next door to Party Central and a rotating cast of drunken Super Bowl fans, weekend warriors, or porn actors, multiple cars on the lawn, music blasting at all hours, people pissing outdoors…

JD Vance, a faux populist from the hedge fund sector who talks about runaway jobs and factories, and whole communities of people left behind, but who has shown no solidarity to the working class, no support for his state’s dwindling manufacturing base, and who, as the author of Hillbilly Elegy, has resorted to promoting condescending stereotypes of embattled, downwardly-mobile Appalachian whites when he cynically decided to “go native” and gain credibility with a once-Blue constituency now demoralized by cynicism and resentment over failed promises and economic reversals.

Trump calls U.S. soldiers’ injuries “headaches” in defense of Iran policy (axios.com)
Former President Trump on Tuesday referred to brain injuries more than 100 U.S. troops sustained in an Iranian attack on a base in Iraq as “headaches.”

The latest: The Harris campaign, in an emailed statement at midnight Wednesday, called Trump “unfit to be Commander-in-Chief” over the remarks, which echoed comments he made in the wake of the January 2020 attack on the base.

Driving the news The Republican presidential nominee made the comments after being asked Tuesday if he believed he “should have been tougher on Iran” following the attack.

I guess Hillbilly Vanilli isn’t up on what’s happening in Montana – carpetbaggers buying up land and blocking access to federal land.

That’s about perfect. Vance is both a cultural and economic wrecking ball creating confusion and doubt. Both of them (Trump/Vance) inflict their own psychological baggage on the once proud middle-class manufacturing base of Blue Ohio. There appears to be something sinister going on.

Gawdalmighty, this is such garbage. I remember him saying to Chris Matthews that women should be punished for having an abortion.
