And this is the reason why Democrats will lose. Not because Abbott made a deal with a bunch of Mexican governors who are probably laughing at this guy, but because the Democrats are not ridiculing what Abbott is doing. The states do not have the power to make deals with other countries. Who is going to ratify those deals? The Texas assembly. The Democrats should just show that this is one big joke, but all you hear from the Democrats is “cricket, cricket, cricket”.

The Russian Army is pounding a democracy into rubble and in their leisure time they’re tying mothers to chairs to make them watch as their children are raped. Biden’s yelling at Abbott is less important than stopping those preceding things I mentioned. I’m not sure how a person would arrive at any other conclusion. SMH

What Abbott has done is very secessionist. Now, I’m not saying that this will lead to another Fort Sumpter, but things like this and the nullification, by several red states, of constitutionally recognized (for now) right to abortion and other Federal laws they don’t like, will likely lead to some kind of reckoning. What form that takes is to be determined.

Thing about Greg is that he has always been in poitics and I don’t think he understands business or economics at all. He’s been able to fuck around because the state economy has been good, but he didn’t cause that and I doubt he knows why it has, and he’s going to wreck it with these stunts.
I wish y’all could have heard the Ag Commissioner, Sid Miller, excoriate Greg on the news. My goodness! No more of the We don’t criticize fellow GOP.

The US has signed a lot of deals with Mexico over the years. It means nothing. It would be easier to just bribe people and less costly too.

Abbot has gotten himself into a mess. I don’t think any other Governor is going to look at this and say…me too. I want to do this too. Maybe California and New Mexico should try to reroute some of this trade.

Especially from that one Democratic candidate for Governor of Texas who called Abbott’s stunt at the border “economic arson.” That voice was Beto O’Rourke. He’s a Democrat. He’s using this stunt in his campaign against Abbott, and is making a pretty big deal about it. Hardly the sound of crickets. Unless that is what you want to hear.
