I always like the scene in Hannibal, when Dr. Lecter says to Cordell something like, “Hey Cordell, push him into the pit. You can always tell them it was me.”

Just sayin’ … well, I’m not saying it, other people are saying it. Just disregard the fact that you can see directly above this … that I did indeed say it.

Nothing to see behind the curtain, move along people.

Ken Paxton, the Texas Attorney General, laid out the plan in clear terms on Fox News on Friday.

“The governor has figured out we can stop trade along the border, slow it down, and it will create pressure on Mexico and some of their governors to work out a deal to help us with border security,” he said.

Call it what it is: an illegal blockcade that usurps federal government authority over international trade and diplomacy.

I know Biden has much more important things on his plate (see: Ukraine), but this needs to be confronted now. What Abbott is doing is both illegal and unconstitutional and, if we don’t fight back now, Republicans will just do this again and again.

So, when does Abbott declare that he has the right to disregard federal law with which he disagrees?
You know, it’s a state’s right.

There are calls for Biden to challenge Abbott on border inspections, etc.

Maybe that would work, although any sort of border news isn’t usually good for Biden.

However, Abbott has done a great job of shooting himself in the foot among Texans. Local news there is not so favorable toward Abbott, from what I’ve read, and other Rethuglicans are criticizing him. So, there’s that.

How about, “People are saying…”
It seemed to work for Donnie.

You’re saying Governor Abbott should let his fleet’s flagship get sunk?

As Bugs Bunny once remarked, “What a maroon!” He must believe that he is really smart…not like people say.

This and more: It doesn’t matter what else the Biden administration is doing, they should be hammering Abbott for attempting to negotiate foreign treaties and arresting his ‘inspectors’ for interference with international/interstate commerce.

As usual, GOP politicians make the calculated bet that they can precipitate a policy disaster and not be called to account for it. More so, they think they can shift the blame to Democrats and the tame media will go along.

We’ll see if this hurts Abbott’s reelection. I’m not sure it will.

Desperate people do desperate things!!

I actually see the erosion of the democratic norms and the descend into wardlordism something much more important than Ukraine.

I don’t think Abbot is acting out of desperation, he has a tremendous approval among the voters whose opinion that he cares about. And it is precisely this kind of lib owning stunts the reason they love him so much. Even if they don’t admit it, conservatives hate liberals so much that hurting them is number one priority, way above everything else. That is he reason they loved Trump “policies” so much, it was all insulting and mostly meaningless actions that were seen as making libs upset.

Plus I don’t think Biden increases his clout and stature by complaining when they do these things. I think many of us overestimate the salutary effect of yelling about stuff you can’t control. Yelling is not fighting.

I dunno, I still think this is a bit too complicated for the 8 MAGAts in the Pennsyltucky diner to figure out. I mean, Hunter & Joe Biden still got that $4.8 Billion check from Mao Tse Tung, right ?

Um hmmmm…this will be yet ANOTHER Texan sht show that is ALL BIDEN’S FAULT for making him do it! He wouldn’t have had to screw up food distribution for the entire country except for those pesky Democrats. I mean, he wasn’t driven to it under TRUMP!!!
