A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo.
The woman who came forward with receipts and a signed “get well” card revealing that Georgia GOP Senate nominee Herschel Walker had paid for her abortion in 2009 is the mother of one of his children, despite Walker claiming she doesn’t exist, the Daily Beast reports.
“But the concussions”. GOP science tells us repeated hits to the head lead men to pursue copious amounts of sex while forgetting that they impregnated any of said women. Abortion amnesia is very common in the ranks of the GOP concussed menfolk.
Now that some school districts, cities, and states plan to ban everything Margaret Atwood has ever written–they are making up for the loss of literature with actual Handmaid’s Tale bullshit.
Instead, agents who were part of Harris’ motorcade reportedly claimed that the vice president had transferred cars due to “a mechanical failure.” The Secret Service director wasn’t told the real reason until later on Monday.
Also left unreported: During Harris’ vehicle swap an agent dropped his service revolver, whereupon it discharged, destroying a laptop and wounding a prostitute that was hiding in the rear of the SUV.
You cannot be a MAGA conservative unless you can simultaneously believe 2 or 3 lines of conflicting arguments. I have referenced a statement by Columbia linguistics professor John McWhorter regarding Mr. Trump’s rambling and sometimes incoherent speeches. Professor McWhorter explained that the actual words Mr. Trump used were not important: instead, he was displaying a certain “tone*”. All current GOP pols have to do is to aggressively display the attitude of hating Dems, libs, progressives, femmes, gays, transgenders, etc. and everything they stand for. As long as GOP pols do that faithfully, every transgression will be forgiven.

I’m more sanguine about the non-use of Russian nukes as Putin has lost credibility with Russians. The “external enemy” that is supposed to unite Russians now only generates smiles. This poster was among the 70 or so meters of signage in front of the Russian embassy in Tallinn yesterday as Putin was signing annexation documents and blaming his buddy Shoigu for military failure.
