This is a preemptive move ahead the Warren Wealth Tax debate. Appear caring and human to the plebs and astro-turf the bottom-up message about the unfairness of Warren’s plan.
I think this is an interesting sign that Wall Street knows Trump and the GOP are toast in 2020, and that Dems will soon control House, Senate, and White House–with the likelihood that this group will be more hostile to plutocracy than any in recent memory (not that this is saying much or is any way adequate to the problems we face). I’d like Dem leaders to start asking them to take immediate concrete steps in this direction: dropping their political spending, lobbying budgets, advocating for various prosocial policies (like real healthcare reform, resurrection and strengthening CFPB, etc.) Put them on the fucking spot!
Definitely hedging their bets. But while they have presented this turn about, I have zero expectation they will follow through if they see any daylight. But the nice part, they presented it as a fundamental change they advocate. So…
Yep
After all, Republicans wouldn’t dream of using the power of government just to hide stuff from the public.
First they did a CAT scan to locate his heart.
That really was an epic final dance number …
One thing to note about Texas politics. Due to changes made during Reconstruction the Lt Governor is actually the true power in Texas. That and Speaker of the House. So Dan Patrick really holds the keys on this. And in one breath he says he wants transparency but then in another says only because the person in trouble says it’s OK. In other words if he wanted it hid it would stay hid. It’s Republican Transparency !
The full cheney involves rerouting the bile duct through the aorta.
Damage the Party? How much more can it be damaged? Even in Texas it’s looking shaky.
It’s not for nothing the British tabs call him Randy Andy.
45’s blaming Fed chairman, news media and foreign countries and absolving himself. But backstage he’s sweating feverishly. He gets a robust economy from The Black Man, trashes it in three years, and did we not predict it would go along these lines?
As to Dimon, hope everyone has seen new Congresswoman Porter tearing him a new on on pay disparity at J.P. Morgan
Trump has been deflecting a number of discrete issues. But what is catching up are the broad fundamentals. Something I gather he actually understands little of. But it is all on his head, he made promises, he struck out at people who know a thing or two, he has put clowns in to positions that need skill and experience and he has soiled the position thoroughly. I would think he has sleepless nights over all of this, but likely not. All he tosses and turns over is his poll numbers and his grand sense of inferiority.
The woman who put this study center is named Rachel Bitecofer, lots of data, all good news for Dems in 2020, from the woman who predicted the 2018 blue wave and the 2017 turnover in VA. She predicts 278 EC before we even get to swing states, and it has to do with increased Democratic turnout, which didn’t happen in 2016. We were so sure HRC would win we stayed home. No more. We’re ready to go
All the verbiage in this reports comes down to this. Jumping up and down chez blue.
Huh—I can’t place that pie fight and I thought I knew at least a few of the most prominent pie fights. “The Great Race,” the Laurel and Hardy one, you know, the classics. Maybe pie fights are one of those subjects you could study for a lifetime and never master completely.
I’m guessing Dan Patrick will be primaried in the next election if he lives that long.
Blazing Saddles
Ah. Thank you.
Saw that over the weekend, too. My reaction (like most people’s): he has a heart?
Actually I think it’s Trump standing behind Pence.
Aaaah, moments like these…“Huh, no wonder they don’t want women in Congress…”
