While most Republicans have avoided commenting on the latest allegations against President Trump and his call with the Ukrainian president earlier this summer, two prominent Senate Republicans spoke out over the weekend, asking the White House to release information about the phone call.
Slimeball Graham is starting to try to isolate himself from Trump. Maybe Vlad will give him a call and put him back in line. Also, I am sure that Susan Collins is concerned.
âTroubling in the extreme.â Mitt does his best Susan Collins impression. (Did he wear pearls to clutch at when he spoke?)
And Lilâ Linseyâforthright as ever.
We need to know EXACTLY what Trump said and what the responses were. And we need to know EXACTLY what was going on with military aid to Ukraine. Nothing less.
Possible scenario - donald did it all, and it comes out, and heâs âimpeachedâ â Unless Pence (Mike Pounce, you know the guy) gets wrapped up in this too with his Ukraine trip, Pence will become Prez. The first thing Pence does is pardon donald, saying itâs obvious poor donald is ill (mentally).
Does a Pence pardon protect donald from prison?
Nancy P. has said she doesnât want to do impeachment, however, she has said she wants to see him behind bars right? Maybe we can get both?
Itâs 2016 all over again and donald sure canât plead ignorance as a defense of the lawâŚor can he?
I hardly think anything the WH discloses will have any truth to it. We need information from the whistleblower and recorded tapes of conversation, not WH BS.
We keep seeming to be poised to slide into a wormhole of sorts, teetering on the precipice of Nixon deja vu. In which case, thereâll be a sanitized âtranscriptâ or even tape, âprovingâ nothing, and we move on to the next stage, an eighteen and a half minute gap equivalent. And so on.
So if the White House doesnât release a transcript of the conversation we can count on Lindsey Graham and Mitt Romney to start vocally pushing Trump to resign, right?
A pardon from Pence could probably Trump from being brought up on Federal charges. He would still be facing state charges, particularly from New York and ignorance of the law is still no excuse.
Just another reminder that the administration is still in violation of the whistleblower law and seems to want everyone to forget about the whistleblower by waving bits of of the story in front of our faces.
Hereâs the evil genius of the Trump presidency. For the (read: any) president to be effective on the world stage, they need to know that they can have conversations with world leaders without the contents of every phone call being broadcast. This is how every president since Washington has been able to forge foreign policy. Trump, or more likely his toadies, realized that he could use this very real and very protected privilege of the office to basically get away with anything. While the framers gave us tools to remove a corrupt president, they failed to envision this level of abuse of power.
One thing that consistently amazes me concerning the Trump scandals is the total lack of interest 99% of GOP pols show in finding out what he actually did. I can understand them spinning the details of various scandals, but instead, it seems they simply donât want to know what Mr. Trump does.
