Two more Trump campaign staffers tested positive for the novel coronavirus after attending the President’s first re-election campaign rally on Saturday.
Amid surge in Florida COVID-19 cases, Fla. Gov. DeSantis changed guidelines for ICU reporting. He doesn't want hospitals to report the number of patients in ICU beds. He only wants hospitals to report number of patients in ICU beds who require an “intensive level of care.”

In keeping with this guidance, I will no longer use the term “Emergency Room” and will instead say “Rooms In Which There Are Some Emergencies”. https://t.co/SPLV9xLaLj

White House staff got an email yesterday saying that temperature checks are now voluntary and would no longer be conducted at the entrances, I'm told. https://t.co/W4IAccCdhG
“These staff members attended the rally but were wearing masks during the entire event,”
Are we REALLY expected to believe this? almost NOBODY in Trump’s circle EVER wears a mask, but these two staffers JUST HAPPEN to be the two people who do?
I’ve got this perpetual motion machine I’d like to sell you…
Staffers wore masks at the rally? I find that more than a little hard to believe.
Pictures, please.
I’d also like to know a little more about this second round of testing. Didn’t they say that everyone on the advance team was tested already? Are these people who came in later, or who were tested again? Why were these people tested - because of proximity to Trump, or because of contact with previously found positive staffers, or because everyone who gets on AF1 is tested first?
There’s more to this. I doubt that those craigslist hires who were passing out masks at outside the rally (while pointedly not wearing them, of course) were automatically tested, either before or after the rally. There is serious community spread, maybe in the Secret Service, maybe in Oklahoma GOP circles or in the campaign itself.
Actually many groups, like churches and municipal governments, pretty much instantly converted to webcasting once the lockdowns started. There’s a piece of gear you need to convert the camera signal to digital information which ranges in price from around $100 up to $200 and more, and the cheap ones disappeared overnight. I’m not sure there’s an upper limit for it, any more than for anything streamed on the web. I assume they don’t do it interactively like online meetings.
Most of them are just stupid kids. It’s hard to seriously wish death on a kid. Now if Barr or McConnell dropped on the ground in front of me and turned blue I’d step over their bodies, shrug to anyone nearby, and keep walking.
Odds are they either did early testing because they would be at the rally and near Trump, or just as a check. When they caught the six, they probably ran another round of tests and caught these two, who likely caught the virus from the other staffers and started expressing the virus later. the real question is if they were spewing virus into the air during the rally, and if they really were wearing masks…even if they were they still probably spread enough to expose multiple people. The whole rally will turn out to produce multiple infections, the statistics and people not wearing masks all but guarantee it.
The constant twisting about to make mutually exclusive things all appear true the base can pick the one they want to believe is true. This is the “It’s all a conspiracy to make the president look bad” + “we take it seriously and are doing all the right things” mambo.
