Fresh off her arrest last week, Tina Peters, the Republican clerk of Mesa County, Colorado who pushed former President Trump’s Big Lie, on Monday announced her bid to become the state’s top elections official.
This woman is long gone; utterly lost in her fantasy.
MAGAQ adherents are now so deep down the rabbit hole that we’ll have to extend Poe’s Law to include them: as with creationists, there is no parody that someone will not mistake it for the real article.
I don’t want to pour cold water on her fantasy, but Konstantin Kilimnik can make a more convincing case for running for President. In America, to be clear.
In October, a Colorado judge barred Peters from overseeing her county’s elections. The judge found that Peters neglected her duties and was “untruthful” when she allowed someone who was not a county employee to copy the hard drives of Dominion Voting Systems machines.
Her running for SoS is even more ludicrous than a vegetarian running a meat packing plant.
Lance a boil and this is what comes out. Such candidates as this are wonderful exposes of the delirium of many GOP foot soldiers. The GOP hasn’t won a statewide race in quite a while except for a university regents position. The party chair is Kristi Burton Brown who engineered three “personhood” ballot initiatives that went down by about a 3:1 ratio every time.
The masterstroke here is that Tina will now paint her continued prosecution for election criming as payback by the SOS to thwart her election campaign.
It’s a dumb move that will only appeal to the dumb people who already support her.
But it should also be pointed out that the Colorado GOP has become a circular firing squad of incompetence. She may be the best one suited to run for SOS out of the available choices.
Also, one has to wonder if Tina Peters interfering with voting machines had anything to do with Lauren Boebert getting elected.
