Trumpworld Blames Media For Harris Birther Lie

The White House and the Trump campaign on Sunday held back from stoking a birther conspiracy that Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) is ineligible to run for office — which President Trump first stoked during a press conference on Thursday — but blamed the media for reporting on the baseless assertion instead.

It is absolutely the media’s fault that they reported what Trump said and they should stop.

“And this is going to be a knockdown, drag-out. And we’re ready.”

Go Kamala!

Kamala is not only a strong person but she has a heart

Being rich and beloved by God always allows you to blame someone. Amazing, really.

If McCain can be born in Panama and still qualify as a natural-born citizen, or Cruz can be born in Canada, and still qualify…

Not sure why it’s even a question that someone actually born in the US would qualify.

Surely it’s not because of their racial heritage. Roberts assured us racism was dead in the US.

Way to go, Newsweek. Who knew there still was a Newsweek?

Every day of the Trump Administration is like every other day of the Trump Administration. This will be a true statement right on through to the last day of the Trump Administration.

Not to harsh anyone’s mellow, but that’s the way it is.

Sorry.

It’s shocking, just shocking that the GOP lies about its lying!

Damnit, media! Why do you keep dredging up the thing we keep bringing up and keep trying to have both ways? Why can’t you just let us be too cute by half?

I don’t know who they think they are attacking with this. Harris? I don’t think so. It’s just white noise (pun intended). I remember Michelle Obama being interviewed back in 2008 and her saying, “Look, I’m black and a woman. There is nothing I haven’t been called and nothing that is new to me when it comes to racism.” That always stuck with me, in a sorrowful way.

They all, including Meadows, ran away from the birther lie embraced by Trump. Their internal polling must have shown them it was a dog that wasn’t going to hunt. Blaming the press was inevitable.

They floated a trial balloon and, lo and behold, it blew up in their faces. Lie, deflect and blame someone else. And move on to something else.

I guess the bigger picture story is that they’ve figured out they can’t gain any traction on this bit of racist tripe, and are cutting their losses. Without the decency to apologize for race-baiting, of course.

I guess the suburbs have just gone all to hell when this crap won’t fly?

…the racist conspiracy theory that has been weaponized as a tactic by the Trump campaign.

No rules. No values. Shameful politics. Even worse policy.

Republicans are not business moguls.

Making the apology less than meaningless. More like a slap in the face.
