This pissed me off.
Has he spoken publicly about how very disappointed he is with the bloody SCOTUS justices who routinely approve the involuntary executions of healthy people? The same folk who allowed the hundreds of thousands of deaths in subsaharan Africa after the dissolution of USAID? If he wants to name names, he should maybe start with the biggest sinners.

Yes, two, but I think there’s only enough of an air group for one at a time unless they borrow from the US Marines (needs F35Bs due to a moronic decision not to fit catapults). As to why - maybe delusions of grandeur? The old plan was to chuck the marines into Norway/Finland as a suicide squad, so you needed the amphibious ships for that, but that seems to have gone out of the window.
I’m sure there’s one attack sub down there all the time, which would be enough on its own to defend the islands (assuming decent satellite coverage) - the issue is that you can’t give warning with a submarine. The attack submarines are supposed to be world class, hence the deal with Australia/US (assuming TSF hasn’t wrecked that yet)

Valid point. Call it an educated hunch, based on:
- I grew up in Manitoba, northern neighbour of Minnesota;
- My mother’s parents were from Minnesota;
- He would have Klobuchar’s endorsement for Senate;
- The faux slime of the ‘scandal’ would be more likely to stick in a statewide race for the same position that oversaw the scandal;
- The nationwide race for VP was a reach for Walz, but statewide for Senate might be doable; and
- He’s still likeable and still popular with Minnesotans, manufactured outrage notwithstanding.
