Former President Trump “mused” about using the Insurrection Act during his presidency, a former Trump official said on Monday.

Okay, a minor point, but why can’t these folks spell “martial”?

One unnamed Proud Boy on the afternoon of Jan. 6 asked “are we a militia yet?” in a group chat. Tarrio replied, “yep” and “make no mistake…” and then “we did this…”

The exchange took place as insurgents were inside the Capitol.

I think there are better than even odds were Pence, Pelosi or other members of Congress these hooligans were targeting had been caught they actually would have been hanged.

Mused, for his own amusement

After a quick read, is this yet another soul that didn’t say anything about what he knew until there was a book deal?

The whole thing is ghoti-y if you ask me.

At least he didn’t misspell it quite so egregiously as MTG did.

Um, he cried out to the public about the inherent dangers of Trump’s administration, in 2018. He didn’t exactly keep his powder dry waiting on a book deal.

There we go again, what does our host has to do with insurrection?

I believe Trump intended to incite an insurrection as a pretext for declaring some form of marshal law.

Lock em up and throw the key away.

Then I stand corrected. Thanks!

Trump discussed invoking the act to use the U.S. military…

Yes, I’m sure this was done in a purely hypothetical “intellectual” exercise sort of way…

But did he really? An anonymous opinion piece with really no backing as to how he may have been “resisting”??? “[V]ow[ing] to thwart parts of his agenda” is not actually action, is it?

I think the people who kept TFG from acting on his worst impulses were protecting themselves and not him.

Perhaps they equate it in their minds with something like a U.S. Marshal…

He didn’t take any constraint on presidential powers seriously, and in the beginning said Article 2 somehow meant he could do “whatever I want as president.” (Article 2 does not say this.) Also he was utterly fascinated with the presidential ability to use violence, and fascinated because as a sadistic poltroon he was afraid to be violent himself the way he wanted to. He just talked about the bigness of his button and so forth.

I’ve always found “hemorrhoid” to be a nettlesome word to spell. You know, when I’m writing about hemorrhoids. Sure, you know. We all do it.

Just as long as Nunes didn’t mosey in, then they’d start moo-sing about it.

Now that would be going Low.

It’s baffling that what’s coming out is mostly NOT news. It was clear to most of us watchers of the proto fascist moves what was possible. If we’re to make it through this crisis with the republic intact at all, we must remember how many millions are just not paying enough attention and do our damndest to enlighten our fellow citizens.
