President Trump’s clearly tuned into his favorite news channel this morning.
In a tweet thread on Thursday morning, Trump posted several paraphrased quotes from “Fox and Friends” hosts’ chatter about special counsel Robert Mueller’s hearing on Wednesday. The commentary came from hosts Ainsley Earhardt — who claimed yesterday “changed everything” in Trump’s favor and said she felt bad for Mueller — Brian Kilmeade, a consistent Trump cheerleader and Steve Doocy, who claimed Mueller didn’t “know what was in his report.”
Well, this is Trump. He gets very excited when anyone expresses an opinion favorable to him. Those of us with stabler systems of self-evaluation remember that there’s a saying about what opinions are like.
Yes I’m waiting for that too, though I’m not particularly hopeful. The administration approach of saturating public discourse with madness, lies and nonsense is the information equivalent of carpet bombing, and people are shell shocked. I don’t know how much headway can be made.
There’s a cost to getting your staff from White Houses R Us. Discount staff members don’t proofread, and are less likely to catch details like that. It would be funnier if it wasn’t such a sad indictment of their lack of attention to detail, which you know spills over into every aspect of his version of governance.
President Big Brain has the following very insightful (or deep!) observation: his friends like him. Huh, who’d have thunk. Thanks for the contribution, Sir!
