Wish I had 'em.
Trump Tries To Bully GA Sec Of State Into Overturning Results In Unhinged Call | Talking Points Memo
And “I” think it was Raffensberger did not want to take the call in the first place; he taped it because he KNEW what Trump would do: tweet insults about him the morning.
SO he released the tape (always go for the paragon of virtue as the one who released the tape).
Lindsey knew it was a tar baby and struck it anyway.
Stupid fuck.
I have to wonder when someone in the mainstream media will quit dancing around the elephant in the room and just say right out loud that the President of the United States is flat out crazy…mad…unhinged…insane?
Everybody, including a lot of diehard Republicans, know it, and the rest of us have known it for ages. Yes, he has always been a calculating, greedy lawbreaker, but this goes way beyond his usual default state of psychopathy.
This is democracy delivering. In Belarus, the government just declared themselves the winner and imprisoned and tortured anyone who disagreed.
We’re seeing what happens when decent, honest people, regardless of their political leanings, act to defend our fundamental freedom.
Republicans don’t give a rat’s round rear about democracy.
Winning election—by fair means or foul—leads them to power, and power is all they really care about.
Maybe for some conversations there is an expectation of privacy that some jurisdictions enforce by requiring consent on both ends for any recording. But this seems to have been official business. Raffensperger announces that he has his dept’s counsel on the line, and that person even joins the conversation at times. Trump presumably had his people at least listening to the call as well. Is there any expectation of privacy that any jurisdiction honors for such official, govt business, calls, with all sorts of people listening on both ends, by making it a crime to make a recording? Maybe there are executive privilege or security concerns involved if you’re talking to the president, but those would trump any state law anyway.
And this was before they’d even realized that we’d cracked Enigma and were reading all their radio traffic!
Bletchley Park for the win…
He could’ve followed Mitch’s lead, retreated and lived to fight another day.
Georgia is going to be lit up Monday.
The SOS informed him that what he was asking was against the law. And Trump then proceeded to threaten to throw him in jail if he didn’t comply.
So the ignorance of the law thing isn’t on the table.
Yes in the cumberbatch movie about Turing the break came I think because every message ended with an encoded “HH” for “heil hitler” (auto correct really wants that to be “Neil Hitler”, which is hilarious.) so they new the code for “H.”
All I can say is that he should have been forced out with an Amendment 25 after his first tantrum over his inauguration crowd size.
Fine, and they warn us about entering “dangerous, unlawful and unconstitutional territory” – but taking the likes of Cheney and Rumsfeld seriously on this subject is more than I can manage.
Worth noting two of these people are Donald Rumsfeld and DICK CHENEY.
Let that soak in your head a bit - the situation is so bad that Dick Cheney feels the need to weigh in on the right side!
The upside for Dence would be the faithful seeing him as a True Trumper.
He’s a lurker, that’s for sure.
We know they’ve been talking.
I’ve heard that on the networks several times just with in the last week or so.
Liked x infinity.
This is still America, motherfuckers - you may have abused the hell out of her but she’s standing up.
I thought the Speaker set the rules and EVERYBODY in the BUILDING of Congress has to mask. It’s like all the new GOP Reps want to carry guns; ‘that’ is against DC city rules.
They believe in ‘absolute’ freedom for themselves.
Which was one of the silliest things in the script. That would be the first thing you looked for.
