Trump Tries Desperate And Damaging New Tack As He Refuses To Accept Loss | Talking Points Memo

WASHINGTON (AP) — Getting nowhere in the courts, President Donald Trump’s scattershot effort to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s victory is shifting toward obscure election boards that certify the vote as Trump and his allies seek to upend the electoral process, sow chaos and perpetuate unsubstantiated doubts about the count.

Matt Morgan, the Trump campaign’s general counsel

A desperate and sad man.

Also formerly an aide to Mike Pence, therefore evil-adjacent, at best.

The elections results of almost every state should be officially certified in less than two weeks. Let’s hope that makes a difference when it happens.

More proof that Trump is following Master Putin’s orders to the end.

Trump and his whole Nazi crew need to be arrested and charged with treason.

["There is no precedent for the Trump team’s widespread effort to delay or undermine certification, according to University of Kentucky law professor Joshua Douglas.

‘It would be the end of democracy as we know it,’ Douglas said. ‘This is just not a thing that can happen.’ "]

Speaks for itself.

Destruction of the country, by its own people.
For a madman

Damaged People Damage People: Trump and his apologists knowingly and purposefully damage people, the continuity of good governance, and the national interest. They are all morally bankrupt.

The only thing I can figure out about this wholesale attack on the democratic process is that tRump is angling for a deal to keep himself/crime family out of the slammer after 2021. That, or he’s a treasonous muthaf*cker. In either case, Lock Him Up!!!

Waste of time. Waste of money. Has Trump ever done anything in his entire life that wasn’t a waste?

There is no precedent for the Trump team’s widespread effort to delay or undermine certification, according to University of Kentucky law professor Joshua Douglas.

“It would be the end of democracy as we know it,” Douglas said. [that’s a big part of the purpose for doing this - Trump and Republicans are not very fond of democracy … they prefer raw power] “This is just not a thing that can happen.” [and yet it most certainly is as the rest of the article shows - the effort itself is destructive]

These people. Since Biden won they have not done a single thing FOR the country. Instead Trump has sent his minions out to screw with democracy, suing right and left as he does, and his ‘supporters’ insist we have to give him time to ‘process’. Good Lord.

Maybe, maybe not. I think Trump’s M.O. is to bully and bully until his opponents get tired and give in just to get him out of their lives. His mistake here, of course, is that his opponent is the United States of America. And we don’t take well to being bullied.

I am glad these texts were released.

Brad Raffensperger's wife got these texts on her cell this week:

“You better not botch this recount. Your life depends on it.”

“Your husband deserves to face a firing squad.”

“The Raffenspergers should be put on trial for treason and face execution.”https://t.co/5u6tPFdADy

All of this to maintain a madman in power. And it will all be “constitutional” if they can pull it off. I’m not sanguine about the outcome. I still think Trump will fail, but he will have salted the earth and Biden will face an almost impossible governing situation.

We are in a lot of trouble.

When this is over and new DoJ leadership is in place, no mercy. Investigate, indict, try, and sentence the lot of them.

Some people need to go to jail for a looooooooooooong time over all this as an example of what happens when you try a coup. Yeah, yeah… unity, turn the other cheek, blah blah blah. That ship has sailed. If there’s no punishment for attempting to destroy democracy we may as well just roll over and let them succeed.

This is an interesting take on what America was supposed to be about. Voter fraud is alleged…but no one knows who the frauds were or how they frauded…but the solution is to throw the election the same way no matter what. Give it to Trump. Was it Trump voters that voted twice or dead or Biden’s? Did any of that even happen? No one knows but the solution is “give it to Trump”.

But poor Trump. None of this is going anywhere. And state that intentionally throws their count from Biden to Trump will see itself buried in litigation and its GOP evaporate. You can rig it for Trump but you’ll take the heat for the rigging. No one loves Trump enough to do hard time for him. We’ll get the fanfare…the doubts. Then everyone backs off. Like they just did in Michigan.

As I’ve said many atime: We’re right. They’re wrong. Keep going.
There are more of us than there are of them. The percentage of people with an actual appetite for open conflict is low. Most people are conflict-adverse. That’s how bullies can exist. We need to call out/litigate the nonsense and plow ahead.

I am a tad more optimistic and I am looking at it in military terms. I don’t know about you, but I consider myself a well-informed private (maybe PFC). There are other levels.

  • NCO
  • Company Grade Officer
  • Field Grade Officer
  • General Officer
  • Secretary of Defense
  • and so on

Biden is at the POTUS level of access to information and has lots of tentacles at his disposal. I am going to have to trust that his people are aware of what’s in this TPM article and things that are even more scary.

What we MUST do is continue to be alert, hopeful, vigilant and thankful that we still have (1) communication ability and (2) a viable Fourth Estate…which is why I hate the term “Media”
