The GOP’s response has not only been to deny Trump’s culpability but to double down and counterattack the DNC. That is predictable, but it is still shocking to watch an authoritarian propaganda operation roll out in real time. The pages between this moment and the dark chapters of history have been ripped out.
We’re going to need a bigger impeachment. We’re going to have go after all of them in court. I understand that this could take till next summer, but it’s simply not acceptable that the Trump administration has refused to cough up a single email to the House, refused to let key Administration officials cooperate. Also, strange as it may sound, this Supreme Court is the best one we’re likely to get for years. Breyer and Ginsburg won’t last long, and Dems controlling both the White House and the Senate isn’t likely after 2020. So Dems must get crucial rulings on the limits of presidential power heard by this court.
I’m pretty sure that if the occupant in the White House croaked for any reason, few people would mourn his passing. My better half would have to restrain me from dancing in the streets and showering champagne on all who passed by.
Trump was referring to the multiple voices in his head. He seems to have a choir rivaling the Mormon Tabernacle’s living in there.

Yesterday, I was thinking that the impeachment vote could wait until well after the New Year. But after letting that scenario play in my mind for awhile, I now think I was wrong. We should call the question in a few weeks and let the Senate do its worst. The burden is on them to justify the unjustifiable. And when they do, we get on with defeating an impeachment-marked Trump electorally, which is the only way Trump was ever going to be removed.

It would be insane to constant adjust the impeachment strategy on whatever the latest poll says. And yet constant sensitivity to polling is usually the Dems’ downfall, esp. since they always overreact to numbers going against them, and never overreact to numbers that support them.
A mistake the Democrats are making is giving equal time to Devin Nunes’s blather. Every day they should provide a summary of what the hearings told us and how the public should respond. Democrats have this incredibly naive attitude about informing the public. The Republicans are constantly framing and presenting specific ideas. From the opposite side, the Dems are…what…“observing”?
We’re in a massive tug-of-war and Democrats think they can win without pulling on the rope.

I know you meant Netanyahu’s indictment - the people that indicted Putin have all had a mysterious malady befall them prior to the indictment.
And of course, Netanyahu is saying that it is a coup, they are trying to undo the election, the accusers are the corrupt ones and it is all fake news anyway.

This whole nightmare has certainly illustrated the extreme benefits of a parliamentary system. Sure, every system has its foibles, but our two-party system and electoral college have to be among the worst.
