Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court on Wednesday to reject a request from federal prosecutors to fast-track the former President’s claim that Special Prosecutor Jack Smith’s team cannot charge him for acts he took while in office.
I can’t wait for the day we don’t have to hear about Trump anymore. When will this be?
I do believe this is the very first example of Trump and/or his minions asking to pump the brakes in order to “get it right”. 
Don’t get your hopes up. Unless he drops dead, he’ll be front page news all the way through 2024 even after he loses the election, and probably a bit into 2025 as well. This timeline sucks.

Nothing like telling the Supreme Court that they need guidance from the Circuit Court because they’re too dumb to figure this out on their own.

Like everything else having to do with Trump, it is less about getting it “right” as it is getting what Trump wants… :-\
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! Everyone needs to simmer down and relax! We don’t want any rash decisions made while irrational tempers flare! Everyone will be best served by calm, rational consideration of the case, in due course. No need for people to get riled up and make snap judgments without all the facts.”
This argument may be one of the few things more transparent than Trump’s combover.
This is not unexpected. It is exactly what Trump’s lawyers should do. They plan on winning the 2024 election and the way the Democrats are approaching the election he has every reason to believe he has a good chance.

It would be easier for former President Trump to argue against cert. before judgment here if his Justice Department hadn’t asked #SCOTUS to likewise leapfrog courts of appeals on 10 different occasions (in five of which the justices acquiesced).
