NBC News announced on Wednesday morning that the network will be hosting a town hall with President Donald Trump on the same day and time Democratic candidate Joe Biden is scheduled to hold a town hall of his own on Thursday.

Thursday Night Football will beat both of them in the ratings.

Trump will come in third.

Mark my word.

I don’t think there is a Thursday Night Football this week. I think it’s a victim of the COVID rescheduling.

This town hall will be credible in inverse proportion to how many fingers Tuck Chodd has in the pie.

I see that now, but i bet it still beats them both.

NBC’s move here is disturbing yet unsurprising – but this is why Biden should have stuck to the original event despite Trump’s chickening out. His switching to an ABC-only event was perhaps a mistake.

Still, it may all work out, especially if he now wins the obvious ratings contest.

Only if this time is a typo:

which is scheduled for 8 AM ET-exactly when Biden’s session will begin in Philadelphia on ABC News.

Really?
Infomercial for a mass murderer.
He was the one who refused to debate and you reward him?

Ethics later
Shame on you

 Reruns of highlights of NFL games would beat them.

I think people have seen enough.

Don’t have investment or expertise in this particular question but I do have two small observations:

(1) Town hall is a darned good format for Joe: he’s good in that situation, and it avoids the ridiculous DJT interruptive antics.

(2) Donald will just make it another rally: I’m guessing he’ll take few or no questions.

And yeah, I think Donald comes in a distant third in ratings, which folks like Lincoln Project can then use to further assail his ego.

Well, that’s just great - I know unemployment is high, but more people are working than are not. 8a eastern means 5a pacific, so the ratings for both will be ridiculously low.

Maybe this is for the folks overseas - the Americans that are in Europe or Asia - but to try and capture the American voter still within the 50 states, this makes no sense for the timing.

I don’t get why the network would participate in this. Is the scheduling at the same time as Biden’s as infantile as it sounds? Or is Biden’s town hall more of a campaign event?

Interesting that he wasn’t allowed to use lie 20 years ago.

This was so absolutely predictable. Everyone should turn their tvs on to Biden’s townhall even if they’re not watching. It would be one more thing to get under his skin if Biden had two or three times as many people watching, since one of his go-to brags is always about his wonderful ratings. Besides, anyone who wants to hear answers to questions won’t tune in to Trump because he doesn’t have any.

Surely there’s a Law and Order repeat on somewhere that we can all watch?!

Competing interviews at 5am Pacific is such a great way to educate the public on the differences between the candidates.

Thereby ensuring that everyone who was on the fence about whether or not to watch the Biden Town Hall will now crawl over broken glass if they must to watch it, just to ensure Biden gets higher ratings than Trump - high enough to humiliate Combover Caligula.

My channel guide shows that ABC has it scheduled for PM, while NBC has that time slot as “To Be Announced”. Can you imagine how difficult it would be for Trump to be ready for a Town Hall at 8 AM? He won’t be over the crash from his super-spreader event on the night before. Besides, everyone knows that he’s still having Fox and Friends executive time then. I’m sure that the campaign considers it to be a grand triumph that they’ll take eyes away from Biden, and insisted on this time (although at this point in the campaign, MLB playoffs, and football, there are probably fewer evenings that they can televise something like this). But the real question is this: do they really think that the contrast is going to look good on the news Friday morning? I know they think he can dominate Savannah Guthrie, but that isn’t going to go well either, especially since Biden is so personable at these things.

Trump desperately attempts to reel Florida back in like an angry marlin while Joe cements Penn in place.

Proceed.

Trump is an authoritarian with zero empathy, zero knowledge and zero character.

Perfect for Clown Hall…

Oh…By the way…there will be, I hope, recon-type people watching Trump (just enough)
