Trump Threatens To Slap Iraq With ‘Very Big’ Sanctions If It Kicks Out U.S. Forces

Very big, and strong! The biggest, most beautiful sanctions. Folks, they’ve never seen sanctions like this. Our sanctions used to be very huge. Obama took the sanctions away. We weren’t sanctioning anymore. Iraq was laughing at us! They were, folks, they were. Sad. But then the companies said, Sir, we need the sanctions again. And now we have them. All new sanctions, the very best sanctions.

I guess Iraq is supposed to say "Oh, hey, no hard feelings! We love the greatest POTUS of all time! (We love the poorly oxygenated.)
OK, Iraq. The ball is in your court now. The future of the world depends on how well you can kiss up to the Dotard in Chief.

donald my boy, you brought this on yourself. Ever hear “break it you bought it”? You committed an act if war on the soil of an ally. Of course they should be pissed off. And you killed several Iraqi citizens in addition to Soleimani and his body guards. Behaving stupidly has consequences donald. And donnie, you do not get to tell the Iraqi Parliament how to vote.

Is it true that tRump took a course in diplomacy?
Somehow I really don’t see how threatening another government is the way to try to resolve anything.
tRump needs to be removed from office. He is a major danger to us and the world and we can’t wait for another whole year when his mental state will progressively get worse.
One thing that makes me so angry is that his demented state is not a secret, all the people around him know and yet, nothing is done.
I picture after he is out of office the hordes of staffers and Rethugs that will come forward with one excuse after another as to why they couldn’t do anything besides write anonymous articles and books. They will want us to feel sorry for them and I won’t.
Seriously, we need to take to the streets to protest this dangerous monster before it’s really too late.

What a fool he is for a President. The US invades Iraq on a false narrative of WMD. After killing tens of thousands of Iraqis and displacing hundreds of thousands more, he’s going to sanction them for not bending over to American policy in the region. Does he think he’s back in NYC and dealing with unhappy tenants or what?

I wonder if Condeleeza Rice is still passing around notes regarding regime change in Iraq that say “Let Freedom Ring”!

I wish there were. You can’t just report, “The head of the GOP said…” instead of “The President said…” That could backfire on us.

But I do think the media could do a service to both parties by reporting more consistently on what members of each party think of their titular leaders’ latest statements. That’s done to a certain extent now, but maybe not often enough.

So let’s see. Sanctions on both Iran and Iraq? That’s just bizarre considering we invaded that country on false pretenses to begin with. Who’s next? While tRump is continuing to make it so that Iran has even more influence in Iraq than they already have, why not let Iran just take over the entire country of Iraq while we’re at it? That’s sure to make Putin happy in the long run. Imagine the range of influence Russia would have in the region if that happened. Let’s remember, Putin took Crimea and tRump thought that was just fine. And where the fuck is Saudi Arabia in all this? Are we supposed to fight their war against Iran too? Russia gains from all this stupidity on tRump’s part imo. One thing I do know…tRump and End Days Pompeo haven’t spent a minute thinking this thing through.

And while I’m asking questions…where the fuck is Jack Dorsey? Isn’t threatening violence on twitter supposed to be against their terms of service. People get banned for less than that but apparently threatening war by tweet or a willingness to commit war crimes by attacking cultural sites is perfectly allowed. Enough already. This is nuts. Twitter is a private business and I don’t care who the fuck is making threats via tweet…they need to be banned. Let tRump use traditional means to communicate to Congress and the public…and I don’t mean facebook as an alternative. Unfortunately, Zuckerberg would not have any problem with threats made on his platform either.

One thing I can count on every morning from reading about tRump is that the only thing that’s consistent with his maladministration is inconsistency, chaos and confusion.

“They’re allowed to kill our people. They’re allowed to torture and maim our people. They’re allowed to use roadside bombs and blow up our people,” he said. “And we’re not allowed to touch their cultural site? It doesn’t work that way.”

Yeah, they’re terrible people.

Sanctions only work with allies. Iraq is absolutely justified in kicking US troops out. I don’t imagine many of our allies will sign on to sanctions to punish that obvious and inevitable response to America’s lack of respect for Iraqi sovereignty. America is the bad guy now, the world needs to react and take care of itself until we can get rid of our disfunction and disgrace.
