Joe Biden should be impeached under a legal theory laid out by Alan Dershowitz, President Trump’s legal team argued at the end of the questioning phase of the Senate impeachment trial on Thursday.

It kills me that Lying Patrick Philbin misapplied Dersh’s asinine argument.
I actually wrote up a big post to explain how and why, but every time I proofread it, I felt I was doing the Russian’s work by repeating their story in service of presenting my argument. Eventually I had omitted even the single-sentence summary that engages directly with Philbin’s deliberate logical failure.
Deliberately fudging their own BS argument is a clever tactic to compel smart people to repeat their lie. If we do it enough, we’ll say it within earshot of people who have not been paying attention, who are not inoculated against this dangerous strain of misinformation, who are likely to function as carriers.
Dersh offered a BS theory, which we can repeat but shouldn’t because it’s dumb. After 2 days of Dersh and his allies being forced to retreat from each formulation of his mendacity, they finally got a GOP Senator to tee Philbin up, to coat Trump’s Russian lie with a special kind of sugar that intellectual political junkies will enjoy dismantling in detail… thereby exposing everyone around them to the infection.
Thus does the republic expire…
