Yeah, the Kennedy bit at the end was just icing on the cake. This administration* is laughingly incompetent. Having said that, DOGE has managed to decimate the staff of many government agencies, damage that will take years to repair. This has to stop.

But it was when I saw those same words emblazoned on the side of the airplane taking the King and Queen home in French and in English ‘True North Strong and Free’ on either side of a Red Maple Leaf… that I truly got a lump in my throat. David Cochrane remarked (I paraphrase) that it was not subtle. But then we’re dealing with a President who lacks any familiarity with the word or its meaning.
From the sunny weather, to the crowd turnouts to the speech itself, it was a day Canadians should understand what it means to be Canadian. And how very lucky we are.

If I were 10 years younger, I would be working on getting an EU passport (Italian paternal ancestry) to give myself an exit ramp from this shitshow.
