Medicare Advantage plans come under fire from DOGE
Health insurers are on alert after the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced May 22 that it is immediately expanding audits of all Medicare Advantage (MA) contracts and adding resources to complete overdue 2018-2024 audits.
However, repeated studies have shown that MA coverage costs the federal government more than traditional Medicare, despite significant concerns that private insurers may deny justifiable care.
Some MA plans may use more aggressive diagnosis findings than what the patient actually has, a practice known as upcoding that raises reimbursements.
A practice known as fraud.

I know the cult doesn’t GAF, but I want to see TV commercials / widespread social media ads about the pardons of violent J6ers and guys like the Virginia sheriff.
We’re in FL for the same reason. But just yesterday I see a report that the Cleveland area is becoming popular as a climate resilient area. That is where we moved from. Go figure. 
Ironic. I’m an expat living in France because, well, I hate flying too - I’m not fearful of it at all, I just despise the discomfort and the hangover of jet lag. Plus, I just love life in Europe, always have, and it’s where my heart is as a pre-modern European historian who grew up in the Pacific Northwest.
But on the whole, the vibrancy of life here, the history and culture, the green cities, life car-free because of great public transport, and the excellence of the health care . . . well, what is there not to like? Plus, oh my goodness the tariff free wine and cheeses!
Living in the US at the time, I spent the first Trump administration warning fellow citizens via editorials in the local paper about what was to come. The return? Derision and threats.
Never teach a pig to sing, it wastes your time and annoys the pig. As for pissing on graves . . . well, none of these people are even worth your piss . . .
And remember, as Shakespeare’s Coriolanus remarks, “There is a world elsewhere.”
Realizing this morning that yes, they’re pissed that the courts are telling them what to do - but they aren’t listening to them anyway. What they’re really angry about is that unlike the media, these judges are saying in plain language what they’re doing is illegal.
That’s a huge setback to their brazen propaganda media strategy (if any national media covers it)
You can’t put Trump in jail so we’re effectively screwed till he either dies or leaves office. And, if he left office you STILL couldn’t put him in jail or prosecute him. He’d just get a pardon.
No Justice = No Democracy
I have Canadian citizenship (and the PDF to prove it) through my mother. My aunt in Montreal wants to know when I’m moving. I continue to debate — my wife and I don’t want to be on the last train out of Berlin — but dammit, this is my country. I’m holding on, hard as it is.
Procedural hi-jinks…
Any 30 senators can force a CRA resolution onto the floor, with a required ten hours of debate time. These resolutions would need the president’s signature, and nearly all of them wouldn’t even get the Republican votes necessary to pass the Senate. But according to Senate procedure, they have to be dealt with if enough senators force them onto the floor. They must be debated and voted upon ahead of other Senate business if brought up for consideration. This means that Democrats can tie up the Senate floor for upwards of ten hours with any single CRA resolution.
“Vance’s holds were limited to a small number of U.S. Attorney nominees in the latter half of the Biden administration,” said Grassley. “Placing a blanket hold on all U.S. Attorney nominees before the Trump administration has filled even a single one of the 93 Attorneys’ Offices would constitute an aggressive, unprecedented attack on the American criminal justice system.
Yes. And not to mention all the tens of thousands of personal tragedies of every person forked out of their job, benefits, pension and thrown to the street, leaving them with their family to support, housing to pay for, and all those little luxuries like, ya know, food.
And who will pay? Us, via the next Democratic administration. But really, nothing will be able to make all those people “whole” again, just as the federal government can’t go back to the way it was.
We, and the Democratic Party, need to keep pointing out who is doing the damage, its impacts, and what it means for the future. If not the Democrats, then some anti-Republican, anti-trumpublican party. A unified voice against the destruction.
Also, keep noting that Trump has just gone crazy. He’s not fit to serve. Even if the mainstream media dare not say it!
Whenever my Medicaid friends go to the doctor, they ask for the most expensive tests – even if they don’t really need them – because patients don’t have to pay anything.
Trump needs to investigate my friends for fraud and waste and abuse. Doctors just do what they’re told.
