Actually Trump is proposing a $300 federal add on to the unemployment benefits, not $400 since he expects the states to come up with the extra $100. Where does he think the states are going to get that money?

Let’s NOT forget that one reason why the 2nd Covid aid stalled (aside from MoscowMitch burying it in his legislative graveyard) was because Trump asked for $1B FBI HQ funding to benefit his hotel biz and the $377M Melania wanted to get for WH renovation, more PPP funding for 1% to loot AND Rethugs want the 99% to eat cake during the pandemic with high unemployment rate while Trump golfs and plays “fire fighter to the fire he helped burn”!

They’ll only be prevented from going into effect if Congress challenges them. And if Congress challenges them, Trump and the Republicans get to loudly trumpet that the Democrats don’t want people getting their benefits, and do you really trust the media to give accurate context?
Stop looking at this through the eyes of someone who’s been paying attention to the details, and remembers that the Democrats passed a relief bill months ago. Because at least 50% of the voters out there don’t remember that, and I’ll be shocked if the media’s going to remind them.
