President Donald Trump dismissed on Monday evening the notion that he would attempt to push back the presidential election, as his 2020 Democratic rival Joe Biden predicted last week.
OK, another lie, you have been thinking of it for at least two years. Biden was smart to bring it up, it will make it harder for Trump to come up with some excuse to do it.
"We’re gonna’ look into this delaying thing. I’ve heard good things about dealing, uh, delaying stuff. I’ll appoint a commission to see what we can do…"
This ain’t happening. He doesn’t have the power to do so. Beyond that, his term ends on 1/20/2017 and then Pelosi becomes president if one hasn’t been elected or reelected. I really wish Dems would get off this fearmongering nonsense. Stop giving this man power he doesn’t have.
actually … I think it might go to Patrick Leahy
if there is no election - then Pelosi is in same situation as Trump - expired term & no new term.
Only senators who are still in the midst of their terms will still be in office.
however, since states can make the rules - games could be played in various places.
Let him try. If Trump thinks he’s somehow weathered this pandemic? That he’s repositioned himself for re-election thanks to a faux-Dow Jones bailout rally? His tune will change near end-of-Summer. The meager actions taken for the general public, for voters, is so small in comparison to that for big business.
And even that hasn’t gone well (the $8B LA Lakers just returned an unneeded $5M loan! WTF Lakers?!). Between small biz bankruptcies on the horizon-- the ability for most out-of-work-- to find work? Is going to be painstaking.
We The People-- once more. It’s on us at the beginning of a sh^tstorm.
To a voter-- this November? Make sure this shyster doesn’t get any further chance to do harm.
He’s been trying to get somebody to figure out how to cancel the friggin’ election, which is fine with me. His term is up January 20 at noon, so is Pence’s. In their absence, Nancy Pelosi is prez. I’m good with that on a temporary basis.
