Well, you can kiss WI goodbye then for sure, because the only thing the WI Supreme Court is deciding right now is how obvious they want to be about it. And they’re setting up other battlegrounds states for the same, They have their federal judges all lines up, who they’re going to choose to go to, who can be relied upon…all the way to SCOTUS where Roberts can finally show everyone just how much he really doesn’t give a fuck about his “legacy” if he has the opportunity to handpick the grateful fascists who will be writing the history books and forcing your children to read them.

Having hung around a lot of faculty meetings and listened to a wide range of views on all sorts of subjects it is my conclusion that a scientist … one who runs on factual evidence and real data … isn’t gonna deny that the earth is warming. The debate would be if it is human caused. Logic would say that burning fossil fuels over many decades and thereby dumping thousands of tons of carbon (as carbon dioxide) into the earth’s atmosphere over that time span would result in the warming we are seeing. To deny the data is to deny that carbon dioxide and methane in large amounts are not capable of changing the earth’s climate. No competent scientist would say that. Now trump can easily say what he does because he is ignorant of climate science. And his acolytes will believe whatever he says. No matter how stupid. He is not trained in science and so he rejects whatever could cause him to look like an idiot (he thinks). Appearance is critical to him. That’s the reason for the bronzer make up and the hair. He is appearance with zero substance.

trump does not know that climate is not day to day weather. Or even seasonal weather. And that allows him to bullshit by saying “You watch…It’s gonna get cooler.” Of course it gets cooler in the fall. But that is not climate change!!!

That’s how far down the list they’re having to reach to find people willing to join this administration. And so more people with long careers monitoring science will leave because working with these venal liars is intolerable.
Hiring people like this is the equivalent of salting the fields.When Biden takes over, our capacity to do anything will be gutted.
