Dok Zoom at Wonkette said at the beginning that we’d have to wait to find out if we were going to have four years of really shitty governance or a shock to the system it would take generations to recover from, if ever. A second Trump term would be just begging for the latter.

A second Trump term will result in violence in the streets (it should) and Trump and the GOP finally having their excuse to abuse the rest of us with violence from the government. It goes downhill from there.

Many of them are like that, or they’re wannabe bullies, at any rate. But I imagine that if you’re a scientist and a climate denier you’re pretty lonely in the faculty lounge, or at conferences.

OMG, I’ve never seen such grasping defeat out of the jaws of victory. We have made it these last 3 3/4 years. Congratulations to all who are still here and love to those we’ve lost. Here we are at the final stretch. This is when the jockey gives his mount her head and lets her rip. Yes, we’re tired, fed up and PISSED OFF, so why all the “We’re all going to die in a fascist regime!” No we are not. WE ARE GOING TO WIN. So start thinking about how we are going to rebuild the economy, our health care system, our standing in the world and all the various ways we can heal and rise up from this disaster. This country has done this before, we can do it again.

Why is it that if you saw this guy walking down the street, and you didn’t know who he was, just by looking at what he looks like, you would say to yourself, “Yep, that there’s a drooling moron.” Would it be the drool on his chin, or just the fact he looks like the grown up version of the kid who got chased home from school every day?

I share your concerns on a second term and by no means want to down play Trumps criminal pedigree, and what is clear now, more often than not his criminal intent, but the organizational might required to pull off the coup seems way beyond these guys.
Violence is a real concern for me, but votes are still dealt with locally. I feel we need to make sure we show up, and is so, everything after favors the just.

But don’t worry, because if we do win, they’re going to go massively violent anyway and we’ll get to watch abject stupidity like 4 years of TX refusing to comply with federal law in any way that goes against their Republican governor’s and legislature’s whims and ideology while the Courts kick the can down the road, giving them a win solely via delay. Enact climate change legislation? Too bad. It gets to spend 4 years in limbo. Enact Medicare for All? Too bad, it gets to spend 4 years in limbo. Failed to get a majority of the Senate? Too bad, no judges AT ALL for you. They are done allowing Democrats and anyone they consider “other” to govern at all and all winning or losing is going to do is change the flavor of their war on the rest of us. It won’t stop it, and after 4 years of Trump proving that he can do whatever the flying fuck he wants and get away with all of it, that’s precisely what red controlled states are going to start doing if Biden wins. His playbook from the last 4 years will be enacted by 20+ states controlled by people who have simply stopped giving a flying fuck what the law says or what any courts say if it’s not what they want to hear, and the system is completely incapable of dealing with it in any way that would avoid them eventually grabbing their guns and going crazy.
