GENEVA (AP) — Nations around the world reacted with alarm Wednesday after President Donald Trump announced a halt to the sizable funding the United States sends to the World Health Organization. Health experts warned the move could jeopardize global efforts to stop the coronavirus pandemic.
When the history books are written about this pandemic, the Donald will not be treated kindly.
It’s not enough he endangers America. Now he wants to be sure he endangers the world.

It takes a concerted effort to:
Fail to stockpile life-saving medical equipment.
Ignore urgent warnings from health and security officials, dismissing them as alarmist.
Pit states against one another as they scramble for respirators.
Spread constant misinformation about the virus.
Rage against the media during public briefings.
Refused to order a national lockdown.
Make empty promises about testing.
Delay national social distancing guidelines for a crucial month.
After a while, explaining this away as Trump being unfocused, or not having a plan, or being shortsighted just doesn’t add up. The failure to protect has been so thorough and so complete, it’s difficult to suggest it’s happened coincidentally.
Trump is trying to cover his enormous ass. Republicans and other assorted RWNJ are switching from attacking China over Hong Kong and it’s move to repress democracy in HK, to China lying about (harsh version) to not being forthcoming (tempered version) of the outbreak.
I can’t fit the pieces together that China with its total authoritarian control should have been open and honest about what was going on in Wuhan, that’s not their past, present, and foreseeable future.
But don’t let Trump gaslight us into believing that he was on top of what was going on. Public records refute this claim, he fucked up, he fucked up so bad that he will be singularly responsible for making the US first in infections and deaths.
It’s as though his mission is to reduce the US’ standing in the world.
I think it’s more than that. Trump wants to remake the US in his own vision. And we’ve seen how well he conducted his personal and business life. We already have a sizable portion of the US populace fat, lazy (intellect), and stupid. Let’s not let him remake the US into the Trumpian version of fat, lazy, and stupid.

I grew up in Europe and don’t remember folks being that obtuse there. Of fucking course Trump is blaming the WHO. That’s been his MO since day 1. Blame it on the FBI if the FBI is after you.
