I’m thinking that Collins, Murkowski and McConnell worked out a deal on who they would oppose so that they each had a turn to appear principled but that all the nominees got through regardless.

I can’t stop thinking about all those right-wingers during the Obama and Biden eras going on about their “Second Amendment rights” and why they needed to be armed against “government tyranny.” And how they were just telegraphing what they intended to do when they’re in power.

McConnell wasn’t about to be the deciding vote against Patel. The two women took care of the weak protest vote so nothing else was needed. This is the game they play. It’s a game the Dems don’t understand.
