President Trump claimed he’s directed the Justice Department and the Department of Commerce to do “whatever necessary” to get the citizenship question on the 2020 census, just hours after the DOJ confirmed the question wouldn’t be on it.
I get the impression they don’t always tell him what’s going on, cuz he doesn’t pay attention anyway.
The resolution will be that we have a census without “the question” to determine population size, then we subtract the already known number of people who are US Citizens. All the data without the racism.
He’d doubtless like to conduct the census on twitter with the russians tabulating the results. Mitch McRuble and the fascistgop would go along with the idea unless, of course, they could think of something even worse for democracy.

This is the equivalent of when you tell a punky little kid he’s not to touch a thing or it’s his ass, and he knows you mean business, but still he reaches out and just touches it once with a fingertip, looking at you, to let you know he’s technically not obeying you. You both know it’s over and he’s folded, but he has to be a jerk about it.
Justice Roberts is showing that he definitely doesn’t have Trump’s back on any of the insane claims he (Trump) wishes to make. This shows that the courts will probably rule against Trump just in pretty much every case where Congress is trying to obtain evidence and Trump is blocking them.
They probably look different when two dozen of them are coming at you and they’re shooting. 
I suspect the absence of the citizenship question will be used as a justification to claim “fake census” when legislatures convene to rig the gerrymandered districts on the next go-round. This allows them room the make shit up, upon which there will be a nationwide cry for accurate citizenship data from those legislatures, thereby justifying an entirely new census that is not decennial, thereby finding a way around the SCOTUS ruling last week.
He wants them to defy the law. Its that simple. He just doesn’t want to come right out with it. Its his typical mob-speak. Just ask Michael Cohen. He’ll tell you. Everyone understands what tRump wants and expects when he talks in mobster code.
Or states that wanted to could do their own census and ask anything they please. But there’s a lot of important stuff that keys off the census and they can’t just wave it away–this is a major defeat for the bad guys.
Not necessarily. The signal sent was to reject on the basis of the administration’s strained reasoning, but to send it back basically saying “come up with a better rationale.”

Well, sure looks like this is the order to send the wrong version of the census “by mistake” to the printer… Only surprised that he only included Commerce and Justice on his request, and not Defense…
I suspect both versions are being printed because it’s only our tax dollars (Trump pays no tax).
They will make another run at it. Likely lose, but some areas, all democratic areas, will “mistakenly” get the wrong version.
So suddenly there will be a huge increase in American population in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia?
