No, President Donald Trump isn’t trying to get a COVID-19 vaccine approved “right around” Election Day to rescue his chances of surviving his race against Democratic challenger Joe Biden, who’s been steamrolling him in the polls. Why do you ask?
Sly and cunning are obsolete now. Just state plainly that, given the chance, you’re going to loot, rape and pillage the country in ways that would make Genghis Kahn and the Golden Horde blush.
The guy who only asked Ukraine to say it was investigating Biden will of course say he has delivered a vaccine right before election day. Count on it. It won’t be remotely true, but he will make that announcement.
I have had occasion to analyze suing a vaccine maker for injuries caused by a vaccine. Suffice it to say, the way the law is written, you can’t. Vaccine makers are essentially granted immunity. And the Supreme Court has interpreted the law in such a way as to remove ANY incentive to make a safer vaccine, even if it can be proved one is feasible. This is a recipe for disaster.
Like mordant_k, I won’t be getting this vaccine until it is approved by Biden’s FDA.
Great timing, Donald! What’s another 100,000 dead when you can throw that Al Bundy Hail Mary election day vaccine pass?
Unfortunately for him about 80% of the ballots will have already been mailed weeks before.
So what’s his plan for actually getting people vaccinated? His base is now a bunch of Qanon vax truthers who think Bill Gates is out to put chips in their heads or something.
So he underestimated the importance, severity, and spread of the virus, then he declared the principal means of protecting against them (masks and testing) as political attacks against him, and ever since then he has minimized the virus spread, its severity, and its mortality. And now he’s attempting to use the premature promise of a vaccine as a tool to get himself re-elected.
