President Donald Trump responded to a question about the White House memo of his call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Wednesday, saying it was built up to be the “call from hell.”
“They [Dems] are an angry mob in search of validation.”
Dan Meuser, PA:
“Since Democrats were unable to defeat @realDonaldTrump in a lawfully conducted election, they are now focused on trying to unlawfully remove him from office.”
Ratcliffe, TX:
“After changing the Judiciary Committee rules to circumvent the Constitution on the initiation of impeachment proceedings, Democrats are still failing miserably.”
I don’t think the press has done enough to educate the public about “security risks” and what this all means. Trump doesn’t really understand it himself, and it’s not necessarily another World Trade Center type of attack, but cyber warfare that could mess with an electrical grid or shut down a city, or play havoc with one of our military bases. I see the polls where the general public doesn’t support impeachment, but having a loose cannon in the White House is so dangerous.
He really doesn’t get it. Making the Ukranian President grovel? Giving the Ukranian President his marching orders on all sorts of domestic affairs in his own country (that coincidentally help Trump in Trump’s election)? This is being nice???
Trump’s problem (or one of his many problems) is that he has no idea when he’s breaking the law and he doesn’t really care. He also won’t listen to anyone who tells him anything he doesn’t want to hear. This is why he released the memo he did today. He has no idea how damming it is and he probably ignored anyone who tried to tell him he was making a mistake.
It’s only a matter of time before Lindsey Graham and William Barr sit him down and explain that he needs to go away qickly and quietly if he wants that preemptive pardon.
First, this is not a transcript but contemporaneous notes by WH aides that were likely edited as they were created to spare embarrassment to the Mad King, aside from any subsequent massaging. Second, this is actually worse than previously speculated (e.g., requesting Ukraine liaise with William Barr, Pillar of Rectitude). Third, after seventy years of being surrounded by lickspittles, sycophants, and abject minions (combined with a textbook case of narcissistic personality), Unser Drumpfenfuhrer has absolutely zero sense of self-awareness. He literally believes he can do anything with impunity (he always has) and probably honestly believes that this damning phone call actually exonerates him.
