On the one hand, I feel a little sympathy for Habba. I know what it’s like to be tossed into the deep end of a courtroom with no time to prepare, zero support, an unappealing client, and a hostile judge.
On the other hand, I don’t feel more than a little badly for her because she chose to do this. It’s not like she was a new associate who had the case dumped on her by one of the firm’s partners.

Truly terrifying. It’s hard to know where to start to remedy the broken system of governance in the US, but isn’t a constitutional right to vote the necessary first step (probably followed by Supreme Court reform) if there’s still a democratically elected government to do it?

President Biden and Vice President Harris will headline a rally in Virginia on Wednesday to discuss the threat Republicans would pose to abortion rights if they win back the White House. The rally comes after Virginia Democrats secured majorities in the state Legislature largely because of the issue of abortion.
They team also plans to launch a new paid media campaign aimed at women and swing voters in battleground states focusing on the impact abortion bans nationwide have had on women and health care providers following the end of Roe.
“Donald Trump is the reason that more than 1 in 3 American women of reproductive age don’t have the freedom to make their own health care decisions,” Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement. “Now, he and MAGA Republicans are running to go even further if they retake the White House.”

Don’t hesitate - go!!! We were there over the summer solstice around six years ago and it was spectacular. Very temperate and almost 24 hours of daylight (only a northern island is actually inside the Arctic Circle, I think). Only downside was that some high-profile locations like Gullfoss and Þingvellir were sorta kinda crowded. But you can easily get away from those spots and experience the wild beauty Iceland has to offer.
