WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Monday derided the nation’s governors as “weak” and demanded tougher crackdowns on protesters in the aftermath of another night of violent protests in dozens of American cities.

“Most of you are weak,” Trump said. “You have to arrest people.”
He may not be saying that in February.

“Hey governors! Implement martial law in the middle of a pandemic and a depression, but give me credit for the troops. You take the economic and hospital collapse.”
It’s always about his fricking military parade.

Josh M nailed Trump four years ago. He is driven by the urge to dominate–or, more accurately, to be seen as dominant. Dominance requires a victim, a “weak” loser. Jeb Bush, the fake news media, D mayors and governors. Now, under intense pressure, predictably, he is grasping at the weak man’s understanding of strength–mass violence as the last tool in the domination toolshed. Somewhere in the wreckage of his mind, he knows very well that he is looking weak. Hiding in a bunker. Turning off the White House lights. He wants to lash out. If I was Melania, I would be in hiding.
I think Trump is probably frightened of the prospect of ordering actual violence. His comfort zone is to look dominant on TV and before crowds of cheering supporters. But his rhetoric is likely to get bloody, and there are people out there with guns who are not at all afraid of getting bloody.

Seattle was quiet last night. After a day of volunteers cleaning up the mess in downtown, some joined a peaceful protest which lasted until about 10:30 PM. There were a couple of arrests but no violence. SPD and the group leaders spoke several times. SPD announced that the assembly needed to disperse and then proceeded to herd the group up a steep hill -one that had been traversed several times during the day. The group was tired and hungry and exhorted by leaders to stay peaceful. They did and went home. Hopefully tonight will be calm as well. Weak was not the word I’d use wrt last night in my city. Bellevue, Renton, Tukwila were different stories though. Lots of breaking into stores and shops but the worst of it was over by the 11 PM news.

Trump is the one who is weak. Huddled in the bunker and afraid to address the nation. Tweets are all he has. He looks completely impotent.

Trump is looking like a wannabe Muammar al-Gaddafi.
Remind me of how that tyrant ended.
