President Trump found a new way to mock the House’s impeachment inquiry.
During remarks Monday at the International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Exposition in Chicago, Trump called the impeachment inquiry a “scam” while criticizing both Chicago Police Chief Eddie Johnson — who boycotted the President’s appearance at the event, citing “personal values” — and the case against actor Jussie Smollett.
Wonder if Trump is going to stiff Chicago like he did El Paso, Albuquerque, Minneapolis, and all these other places he’s campaigning at. Would make Smollet’s fine of $136K look platry in comparison… I mean as long he’s comparing…
“It’s a real big scam just like the impeachment of your President is a scam,” Trump said, which was met with cheers from the audience.
This is unacceptable as the cheers came from an audience comprised of chiefs of police. They are involved in law enforcement, as is Congress in this particular case, as the President apparently can’t be indicted. This is an Impeachment investigation given full blessings by a Federal Judge - an investigation, by the way, that Trump is blatantly obstructing. Would any police chief be happy if one of his suspects behaved as Trump has?
And while they surely have political biases, they should be professional enough to keep it away from performing their public duties. Otherwise, they’re letting themselves be used by Trump for his personal benefit.
Compared to the Rump, Smollet is a wannabe, eager beaver, Celebrity Apprentice reject of making up phony conspiracies to get attention and boost his career.
So California’s been having devastating fires, acreage and homes destroyed, the cost is incalculable, power which has been off for days in most of the state is coming back again. However, I personally am at peace because I know the president of the United States will be monitoring the situation from a fundraising venue in Chicago.
Y’all could take a couple million of those refugees and resettle them in places like Wyoming, Idaho and whatnot in sufficient numbers to turn them blue… It’s not like they currently have a home to go back to.
I’m torn between this meeting of two people who shouldn’t be meeting and the meeting between Elvis and Nixon. They got together ostensibly to talk about drug abuse, and who would know better than Elvis who died of a drug overdose seven years after this pic was taken.
