A couple of weeks before Elvis died I was with my fellow rock fan high school friends attending a Crosby Stills and Nash concert at the Nassau coliseum. Up on the marquee was “Elvis is coming” since he was scheduled to perform there. A couple of us looked at each other “Hmm Elvis yeah he does that whole Vegas casino thing but he’d probably be cool to see” We just nodded our heads. You think of those stereotypical and no so much Long Island folks who bought tickets but missed out.

We should be exceedingly happy about Trump being unable to keep his mount shut and acting like an all around arrogant asshole. If Trump was quiet, he probably would have gotten away with far more underhanded stuff, and damaged our system much more than he already has.

In regards to the Smollet case, no one is defending his actions, and they certainly have nothing to do with the ongoing impeachment inquiry.
The facts: He and his team (Guiliani and associates Parnas & Fruman) have tried to co-opt a ally in Ukraine into digging up dirt on his opponent or else they get no aid from the west. What does he want, Ukraine to turn to Russia? What does he want, Syria and Turkey to turn towards Russia?
As Pelosi said, all roads lead to Putin.
If Trump wants to drain the swamp he can start with his tax returns, he can start by complying with the constitutional inquiry into his High Crimes and such.
Except the only voices he apparently listens to are those in his head. And they don’t tell him to shut up. In fact, they tell him that he’s able to baffle everyone with bullshit because he’s such a stable genius that he is.

Elvis before Colonel Parker was a singular sensation (pardon me, A Chorus Line), but the colonel for reasons only hinted at and vaguely understood wouldn’t let him go past the boundaries of Las Vegas showrooms and shoved him into silly films. It was about the Benjamins for him, not about the singular artist Elvis once had been and might have remained.
