President Trump on Wednesday finally said that he supports wearing masks, after many Republican lawmakers spent the past week urging the public to adopt the practice in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 as cases spike in several cities.
I suspect that the GOP internals up and down the ballot are just horrific for them. We’ll know how bad it is after Labor Day if they start dumping him in droves.
Fat Nixon is addicted to attention, good or bad. His need to seek adoration at his rallies exceeds his duty to his office and the protection of the American people. His is mentally ill and dangerous.
“I don’t know if you need mandatory because you have many places in the country where people stay very long distance.”
Translated: “I’m not going to lift a finger to stop tens of thousands of Americans from dying in Florida, California, Arizona, and Texas, because no one lives in Wyoming.” Yes, Trump has a certain knack for making deranged nonsense sound superficially plausible. But it’s not much of a knack. He’s a deranged idiot, and our national media has just not been able to get that into its reporting.
I don’t know if you need mandatory because you have many places in the country where people stay very long distance,” Trump said, referring to social distancing practices.
And there are many places where people think it is OK not to wear masks. But they might if the president showed some leadership and led by example.
