Whenever discussion of Trump finally being brought to justice comes up a helluva lot of people make the case the criminal justice system eventually will catch up with him, he’ll run out of runway, the jig is up, Damocles is dropping the sword upon his neck, you just wait, it’s coming, THIS TIME HE’S DONE FUCKED UP!!!
And then…pffft. Nothing.

At some point the Judge will increase the amount of the fine if (when) Trump continues to fail to comply. Possibly on an exponential basis?

Civil judgment for the accrued fines. And the possibly applicable criminal charge under NY state law would appear to be obstructing governmental administration, but it’s only a misdemeanor.
ETA: There is also the Alex Jones model, whereby the refusal to comply makes the defendant lose the case entirely, but I don’t think the AG has actually sued Trump for any unpaid taxes yet.

For the religious types, that would be hard to believe. Been a long time since my indoctrination but I remember something about it being easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get in to heaven.
