Trump Held A Fundraiser Mask-Free Hours After Praising Himself For Finally Wearing A Mask

On the same day he patted himself on the back for finally wearing a mask on Monday, President Donald Trump held a campaign fundraiser at his hotel in Washington, D.C. without a facial covering.

His support for masks is only going to last until he doesn’t get a bounce in polls.

Can’t gaslight facts - they stay around. Unlike too many US citizens who have died under President Trump’s pathetic and criminal leadership.

Trump said Covid-19 testing ‘creates more cases.’ We did the math - STAT

In 25 of the 33 states that saw reported Covid-19 cases increase between May and July, the count rose because there was actually more disease.

finally donning a mask, which he had reportedly done as a means to rescue his sinking approval ratings.

Because nothing says ‘give me your approval’ like blatant lying and hypocrisy.

Yeah, but it’s a new “tone”, man.

I saw a mashup of news readers talking about the new damn tone. Infuriating. But I’ll tell you, they know as well as us there’s no new tone. But there was no news either, it was his same old gobbledygook, so you had to lead with the new tone, all the while knowing it was bogus. Done it myself many a time. The housing development I’ve written about six times is “a step closer” to going up because they got one more of the eleven approvals they need in the review process.

He’s super-conflicted about anything to do with this pandemic. He knows it makes him look bad, and his most powerful impulse is to make it go away from his mind. Wearing a mask and talking about them isn’t that. He can barely say why he supports them—it’s considerate of others, like his Tic Tacs, it’s “patriotic,” but nothing about VIRUSES. We’ve seen this pattern eleventy-five times.

It is amazing how most of the media still believes anything he says. They can’t admit to themselves that everything he says is a lie. The truth of every matter is the opposite of what he says, just stick to that rule and all your questions will be answered.

How many more wheels can the TrumpBus lose?

Most folks I read were on about the Ghislaine Maxwell salutation. But yeah I get it. It’s mostly the cable news not print. Gotta have something to talk about important or not coz gotta fill up 24 hr a day.

“Hostage Video” is not a new tone. He’s done it plenty of times. It is always followed in a day or two by “Inject Bleach and Shove a UV Light Up Your Ass.” My guess is he’ll really flip his shit Friday afternoon, when he’s got Golf Weekend giving him happy vibes.

This is a good thing. If he gets the virus and dies, the result will be thousands of lives saved.

Bingo.

In Cronkite’s time he did not have to worry about that.

That was news, and it’s what they should have led with. WTAF? He has zero sense, if he ever did, of what’s appropriate, and he’s pardoned a lot of people about whose legal troubles he was deeply and publicly sympathetic. But he can’t do no comment, he has to run his mouth on every subject.

We give Trump points for consistency
Maybe a day, 2 max after the press goes all goo goo over a monotone teleprompter session where he only generates 20 or 30 lies “See He’s Adjusted !”
Within a day or 2 he is off the rails
It’s who he is
It’s why he will lose
There are a lot of people dying
They are forcing the serfs back to work and school at risk of their lives
Mitch intends to let support fail and there are millions who will suffer while the orange flesh bag tells us how good things are

I am shocked, shocked that Trump contradicts himself and puts his supporters at even greater risk of infection and death.

Shocked.

When you are a performative president you know how to follow the cue cards until the next shoot; change the scene, change the cards. Trump’s real problem, malignant narcissism and dementia aside, is he fired all the good writers and began writing the script himself so we are now at full Dunning-Kruger, no where else to go.

ETA: The new season of Trump’s pandemic reality show is headed for early cancellation

The instructions for President Trump could not have been clearer: Stick to the script. Talk about the virus. Be serious and sober. Don’t go off on tangents.

And for a few minutes, Trump did as he was supposed to do at Tuesday’s coronavirus briefing, ... —Dana Milbank

All of them. The bus is now more of a sled, being dragged by a dwindling number of racists and other deplorables.
