Not really. Their plan is to cut Medicaid while repeatedly lying about not cutting Medicaid. When state governments start kicking people off Medicaid, they’ll blame it on the states. As we’ve seen with FEMA, they have no problem screwing over even ruby red states.
Thanks for the response. The things you mention are one reason I am staying put in my community. I am 77 (!), and have a son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter in CO who live in a WONDERFUL town – Golden, and who would like me to relocate. I know how hard it is to make friends at my age, and I am a friendly introvert, so I don’t like to join a bunch of things, but I do enjoy having a group of friends, which I have here. Good luck to you in your cross-country move.
I have one friend whose house burned down, and he said it was (after the shock and sadness) a truly cathartic experience.
The brazenness and cynicism is really something because they know that half the country doesn’t even know about it … .
Well, it’s funny! But I have a hard time believing that George – or anybody else in political intelligentsia circles back in the old days-- didn’t know exactly who Midge Decter was and who she was married to. They traveled and worked as a pair a lot, I think.
What about Soda Streams? Aren’t those made in Israel?
I don’t have the counter or storage space for one, and my soda consumption is less than a quart a week.
This reminded me of events that happened on Jan. 6th, and adding that with all the rewriting of tRumps insurrection. This is what makes me an eternal optimist. Ms. Cassidy helped clean up the slobs tantrum. She was a loyal republican whose moral compass couldn’t be compromised.
Hopefully we won’t hear her name again until the run-up to the mid-terms. A savvy Dem. Party could use clips of her and other republicans testifying before the Jan. 6th committee. It would not only re-expose the insurrectionist in chief, but all of his toady’s who’ve turned a blind eye.
Keep the faith baby.
When Trump tried to bully Governor Mills over the issue at a White House meeting in February, she told him, “See you in court.” Today she commented: “It’s good to feel a victory like this. I stood in the White House and when confronted by the president of the United States, I told him I’d see him in court. Well, we did see him in court, and we won.”
You stop a bully by fighting back. And Trump is a particularly sad sack of a bully anyways.
Tangentially Off (or On) Topic: Mike Pence will be receiving a “Profiles in Courage” award from the Kennedy School this weekend.
Still not sure how I feel about this after hearing it yesterday. Regardless, it is, if nothing else, a nice bit of trolling of El Gordo.
Doesn’t speak especially well of George, if indeed it was he (and while I thought it was, I looked around for my sources but didn’t find 'em).
It was the pandemic that helped convince us to clean out, sell the big Colonial and downsize to a townhome with one floor living if need be (loft, bedroom and bath upstairs for guests) We chose to stay in the same area, close to family, work and friends after several corporate moves through the years. I know that cross country move and it is not for the faint of the heart as we did that twice.
Yeah, Abraham had the same problem with Sodom & Gomorrah.
It truly is sad that our tax dollars will go to a terrorist criminal hell bent on destroying the Capitol and harming its occupants. The right displays only smiling photos of her, yet she was a raving lunatic crying out for blood as she was crawling through the barricade when she was shot (with hundreds of rioters behind her).
Righteous shoot to protect the officer and the people he was protecting. Here is Babbit raving mad while driving a car:
Both the House and Senate have approved a GOP-led budget resolution that would add up to $150 billion for defense. - 4/10/25
The White House unveiled a budget blueprint Friday that would pump more money into defense and homeland security . . . It would increase defense spending by 13% to $1 trillion. It would also provide a “historic” $175 billion investment to “fully secure the border,” - CNN updated 5/2/25
I believe these are negative reductions.
If Marco Rubio can be the Secretary of State, National Security Advisor, Administrator of the USAID, and Archivist of the United States, it is not unreasonable that Donald Trump can simultaneously be the President of the United States and the Pope.
So you’re saying now we’ve gotta intersperse the Kirkland box cab with Bekaa Valley red.
Now that Trump has openly admitted he could bring back Abrego Garcia whenever he wants, his lawyer tells me he will use discovery to determine which officials are advising Trump to defy the Supreme Court.

There is a country music song in there somewhere.
