Trump Got Tired Of Waiting On GOP Lawmakers To Decide Whether To Relinquish Their Authority

RE Medicaid work requirements

There is a pithy definition of insanity but, just as it does every Rethugliklan ever, it escapes me at the moment.

When the Medicaid Work Requirement was attempted before, the (Red) states that tried it saw an average 20% enrollment rate in the program. The other 80% percent returned to their previous method of health care, which was none, resulting in an increase in ER visits for what were often preventable and/or less acute illnesses.

Instead of realizing any savings the states quickly discovered that administering the program cost twice as much the purported cost reductions. As a result, most of them jettisoned the program within a year, returning every former Medicaid recipient to a previous method of health care, which was none.

One has to presume that the outcome for new, improved Medicaid Work Requirements will be much more successful this go round, especially when combined with the elimination of Head Start programs.

Genius, I tells ya.

“Here, Robert F Kennedy Jr is exactly who he has been for the last 20 years. He’s an anti-vaccine activist, he is a science denialist and a conspiracy theorist,” said Offit.

A leading immunologist warned of a “post-herd-immunity world”, as measles outbreaks affect communities with low vaccination rates in the American south-west, Mexico and Canada.

The US is enduring the largest measles outbreak in a quarter-century. Centered in west Texas, the measles outbreak has killed two unvaccinated children and one adult and spread to neighboring states including New Mexico and Oklahoma.

“We’re living in a post-herd-immunity world. I think the measles outbreak proves that,” said Dr Paul Offit, an expert on infectious disease and immunology and director of the Vaccine Education Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

At least get rid of the pictures. And feel free to never post another depiction of a naked Trump, OK? We’ve seen that more than enough.

Norman Podhoretz starting migrating towards the right wing a few years before McGovern became the Democratic nominee in 1972. His infamous essay about his “negro problem” was published in the early 1960’s. It wasn’t just civil rights but foreign policy, namely the Cold War where he Irving Kristol and others created the neo conservative movement.

The difference, in “trumpthought”, is income from massive tariffs will make up the difference for income to the government coffers and the rich will get yet richer.

True, long before McGovern. Also, a reaction to the excesses of the Anti-Vietnam War movement, which was also true of many newly-minted Neo-Cons.

And since, despite “conservatives’” endless griping about government debt, the bolded is literally all that matters, this is not just acceptable but great!

I recently proposed they substitute random photos submitted by TPMers. You know, along the lines of

but Nooooo. They keep posting various shots of that worthless POS SOB.

So, as an alternative, I’m now proposing they limit themselves to one authorized photo of the Cur from Queens.

This is a bike path known as “the Lacets”. It’s in France and is included in many famous bike races. Been used many times in the Tour de France.

He’s arguably one of the most dangerous individuals on the planet and one of the greatest threats to it. We could pretend he doesn’t exist, but he’d still be there.

I remember when Garry Trudeau, in his Dunesbury comics, substituted a bomb (:bomb: ) avatar for (I think) George W. Bush Newt Gingrich. Perhaps we could ask TPM to come up with an avatar universally recognized by TPMers and go with that.

But I have to tell you that :bomb: has been used and :poop: is unimaginative. So, what can you suggest?

:100: Enough already. The repeated depictions of the Cur as a pope is obscene and ought to stop.

It’s a site with a focus on corruption and abuse of power. What else should TPM be doing when the Mad King is the one causing each new instance of abuse? Y’all want pretty sunsets and rainbows instead?

Maybe there could be occasional substitutions, but some images of Trump are important as documentation of what’s happening. Like this one below. I’m not sure it’s been published on TPM but it’s important as evidence of where we are. This should be unthinkable, and yet here we are. We shouldn’t look away.

Point taken. I can stand for this one. But in this pic Trump is small - not some giant blow-up, as we noted upthread; often reposted here over and over and over again.

Repeatedly.
